C'mon ya'll really..... scheduling in advance?! It ain't like (well I seriously doubt) that these ADs are scheduling in advance. They're having games fall in their lap. So USC calls and says "hey insert SWAC school, I got a game opening in 2018 and would love for you to take it." That really ain't scheduling in advance. That's having your schedule made for you in advance.
Lol ya'll trying to brag the same way Bacone and College of Faith are about playing FCS schools.......![]()
PV folks have said the reason for the 10 game schedule last season was a self-imposed APR protection.Ok if those are your OOC opponents and we are on a 9 game mandate...you all played basically 10 games. Which means your school could not:
1. Schedule Anyone because your athletic department is too damn lazy
2. Felt the need to have an easy schedule to keep from getting or something during SWAC plays.
I personally believe that if a team does not have a full schedule they should be penalized. If the season says you CAN play 11 then a team should play 11.
Excellent Thread. Want to know why I am So hellbent on SWAC vs. MEAC regular season games? One of the War Party Room Folks answered for me and didn't even know it.
FBS will stop playing FCS. BUT HERE is the kicker: HBCU Classic Oligopolies
What if HBCU Classics stop matching and mixing random HBCU teams and just stuck with two teams they felt will bring in the most revenue? What if the Atlanta Classic decided the ONLY matchup it needs going forward is SU vs. FAMU? What if the Chicago Classic decides it only needs Grambling?
Some HBCUs are going to be left out in the cold because of their unwillingness to build business relationships with MEAC Schools NOW to thrive later.
But when the bomb hits, I will just laugh and say, "I Told You So".
What's the same about it? YOU are an NCAA DIVISION 1 FCS conference school! Are you seriously comparing yourself to an NAIA/prayer league team? The FBS teams are playing 1 division below them when they schedule FCS opponents, and even then the games are not slam dunk victories (Michigan/App St., BCU/FIU). You're talking about scheduling club teams. There is no defense for that. Stop getting defensive about this crap. This is not an anomaly that just happened to your schedule this year... This is EVERY YEAR for the same teams. It's got to stop!

So someone calling you is not scheduling now?
C'mon man! Founder, you can't be serious bro. Did you even read the count the number of teams? It's obvious you only looked at 2014, which the reason has been explained....

First, as I said in my previous posts this is more than one team, and I'm not singling anyone out. If you notice I said "this is EVERY YEAR for the same teams". Not only that, I explicitly complain about the ADs not doing their jobs. So I wasn't singling your school out, but hit dogs will h0ller... so I'll bite (since you and C-Leb think I'm making this up).I'll do it for you. You're just talking with no REAL facts. Below are PV's OOC opponents over the past 5 years. Care to rethink that BS you posted??I hope you respond...
2010: Southern Mississippi, Lincoln
2011: Bethune Cookman, Texas State
2012: Lamar, North Dakota State
2013: SFA, Texas State, Abilene Christian
2014: McNeese State

PVAMU
Last year you could have scheduled 12 games, but only had 10? Show me a link to a news article that speaks to PVAMU self-sanctions for APR purposes, because this is the first I've heard of it. Fast forward to this year, you schedule U. of Faith. That's two straight years of weak scheduling efforts IMO.
These aren't the only teams in the SWAC either who have scheduled that low in recent years, i.e. JSU vs. Virginia Lynchburg. All I'm getting at is that these ADs are getting paid top dollar to bring in money for the athletics program, be competitive at OUR level (DIVISION 1), and this is what we are getting in return, and nobodies outraged about it?!?! I can excuse every blue moon if one of these teams pop up on your schedule, but don't make it a habit. I see a trend starting in recent years, and I don't like it.
The fact that I even have to respond to this is EMBARRASSING.
I hate the 9-game mandate, but if it wasn't for it some teams' schedules would be even worse.
“Our 2014 football schedule reflects PVAMU’s commitment to academics as the 10-game schedule allows the student-athletes to have ample time to focus on their academic endeavors throughout the season,” stated Robinson.
First, thanks for posting this. Second, you know that article is about APR, not the football schedule, right? Also, this article is dated May 22, 2014. Obvious questions... when did the NCAA inform the university of APR sanctions? When was your schedule released? No, you have to respond because you're flat out lying about Prairie View. In this case, your opinion matters not. Here is another FACT and a link to the article, per your request. Just so you don't have to read the whole article I did you a favor and quoted a statement from AD Ashley Robinson.

apr is released internally months before we see it
This is the link you should have posted:

And just so you don't have to read the entire article let me do you a favor and quote what your AD said about APR restrictions.

The AD sounds like he's making that up on the 10-game schedule. No real policy, but it sounds good and saves face.
