Said Baseball Weekly's Dana Heiss Grodin of Weeks, "Scouts love his instincts at the plate -- he's struck out only 18 times in 190 at-bats (as of mid-May). He's projected by some to be the top pick in the 2003 draft."

That dude can mash...I was discussing him with Woods, Sr and we talked about his hitting skills. Mike said that Weeks hits all pitches well, even good pitches!

But the most impressive thing is his ability (mental) to make a pitcher give in and throw "his" pitch. Weeks will come to the plate knowing what type of pitch he is looking for, and will get behind in the count if necessary while waiting for that pitch. Once behing in the count, he fouls off pitches until he gets what he's looking for. Then when the pitcher puts one in the zone, he launches it.

This explains why he is sooo clutch in critical situations. He understands that he is talented and knows just what the team needs of him (deliver the big hit). On top of all that, he seems to be a really good kid and team player. Props to him for what he's done and how he accomplishes it!
