Why would you? Does ND State who has more money than all of us spend close to 300K on their coach? We saw what McNeese paid Viator. 130K. So I guess those schools don't invest in their program. Well we know ND State does. McNeese has some challenges. But the bottom line is handing out all that money is not worth the SWAC wins. Alcorn is winning without spending all that kind of loot.

Well, in order to get who we wanted, we simply gave part of what he asked for. For future reference, coaches now know how serious we are about winning as well.

We will, we Dnt have no problem crawling before we walk. A baby doesnt crawl forever !!!! And we are not SU, once JSU does join a conference we want be much behide. The only difference is budget and a better grade coaching staff in which are all the things we will upgrade so yea we will be fine. But while we make all those upgrades y'all will still be in the SWAC behide Grambling and now PVAM!!! Carry on

That was something I ment to say! Hell they da ones who started that big salary shit. Because when they was at 200 we were at 85 !!!! And you speak of to much for a coach. Atleast we paying big money in a time where everything requires more money but when they where paying Pete 200 that was when it really didn't require no damn 200 for no damn swac coach. Hell Eddie, Gordon, Merritt and Taylor some of the most successful coaches in hbcu and all where paid less than $100,000 around the same time SU paid Pete 200!!!!

And we Dnt bust the bank neither !!! The state pays the base salary and rest come from private funds. So JSU itself isn't busting a bank neither bra !!! Jsu alums unlike others Dnt mind forking up a few extra dollars to keep the salary competitive!!!

Point of it all j state fans talk bout making big moves on the sports side but dont have the results to show for it. This guy talking about Coach Pete contributing to our struggles in finances but the results and the point of it all we won championships after all was said and done. Lets c what j state do in the near future in sports.

Secondly. Don't get too much on a high horse. JSU aint paying that money. Your boosters/alums help foot some of the coaches salary. So as long as they do that. You are good. We will see if that spending will remove SU's foot in yall's ass on the gridiron or hell even the basketball court.

I sure hate when folks bring up financial problems of Louisiana schools without taking in to consideration that Piyush was the torch bearer of the demise of the Louisiana Educational System.

Exactly. To the point that even rich LSU had some side effects from it. Even caused them to think about the Les buyout even though boosters would pay for it. They didn't want to have to ask the state for any other funds for other stuff if they had the nerve to ask boosters to buy out Les instead of investing in the school itself. LOL.

If you go back and read my previous message you see where I said we the alumni and tiger fund are paying for the extra. I mentioned it in a post yesterday on this same thread!!
