In 1994, we planned to build a school of Liberal Arts Bldg. We just moved in in 2000. Buildings take time. You have to secure the money and get contractors. It could take up to year for bids. You don't know much.

Your Prez did not clear land, secure money and get a model for a building in 6 months. Fort did that. Besides, I saw it.
 



By the way TP, do you even realize what you're currently arguing about? You're sitting here debating with me about which A&T Chancelor did more to improve A&T facilites- the old one or new one.

Regardless of the fact that you are wrong about the fieldhouse, it still is more than any JSU administrator has done for your athletic facilites in the past 10 years.

I just don't see why you insist on taking a hardline stance that A&T's leaders are not progressive. I even remember you admitting that same fact on the meacfan page last year and saying we had one of the best "AD- Chancellor partnerships in black college football." This around the time the JSU-A&T game was first announced

Please tell me you're not going to lie now and act like you didn't say that.
 
TP, why don't you post a thread on the meacfans or onnidan board about whos vision and commitment it was to build our field house. They did not actually start construction on that thing until 2000. They started clearling out the area it was to be builton in Dec of 1999.

If you dont want to believe me -someone who was actually enrolled at A&T at the time- just ask another Aggie or someone from that area. They will tell you the same thing I am telling you.

It is no secret, you idiot.

I do think your leadership is good. I did not say that. I am only saying that you are giving them credit for things they did not do. I think they have good vision but NO ONE has seen it yet. What you are seeing is work done by Fort and money from a lawsuit. That is all I am saying. YOu are in good hands but they are not responsible for the fieldhouse or the bond improvements. My school has not gotten our lawsuit yet. So that is an unfair comparison.

I would be an idiot if I had to ask someone about what I saw. I would also be DUMB to think that someone could build a 2.3M building in 2 months or even 6 months.
 
Please tell me where I said it was built in 6 months. I told you that the fieldhouse took about a year and a half to actually build.

Construction started in around March 2000 and was finished around July or August of 2001. The preconstruction, clearing out process adds up to nearly a full two years.

The reason you won't ask someone else on the other boards is because you already know you are wrong. I was there.
 
For the last time, you idiot, there was no moeny spent from a lawsuit on our athletic upgrades. I've already shown you which stuff came from a bond and which stuff didn't.

AAMU might have benefitted from a major lawsuit but we didn't. Our money came from public state funding and private donations and fundrasing. None of of our athletic upgrades are a result of public money or lawsuits.

Why can't you get that through your peanut head?
 
Lat question TP: do you or do you not agree that my campus looks better than yours and has had undergone more upgrades in recent years? Truthfully now.

Do you also agree that A&t has made more upgrades to our athletic facilites in the last 3 years than JSu has did to their's?

Excuses and lawsuits aside, can we at least agree on these two points?

Both of ya'll are right to an extent. Not very long ago, visiting teams had to dress prior to arriving at Aggie Stadium. At halftime, they would literally meet under a tent. Needless to say this situation was embarassing to all Aggies. So, the school began a campaign to raise funds for a fieldhouse. Plans at the point were tenantive at best. It was not until Chancellor Renick arrived from Michigan with a boatload of Ford Motor Co.'s money that the fieldhouse was built, lights installed, and other improvements. This is why the official name of our stadium is Aggie Stadium at Ford Motor Sports Complex. Without Chancellor Renick players might still be spending halftime under a tent. That's just the simple truth.

A lot of what we are doing at Aggie Stadium is simply playing catch up. But, I do believe the current administration deserves credit for doing just that. They could've allowed Aggie stadium and the atheletic department to languish in its once substandard state. Instead as noted above, they are doing everything possible to put A&T on par with every other Div. I school in NC.

I hope this ends the discussion. At least until Sep. when we can discuss just how in the he!! Superman threw 21 damn ints in a season.:lmao:

Sonic it cant compare to AAMU's stadium. The stadium is built like a high school stadium except for it is a horseshoe. It is all metal and no concete. If you are under the bleachers you can see peoples feet(if you know what I mean). Its an aight stadium, but I believe if a good strong wind came it would blow Aggie Stadium to Durham, North Carolina.

My bad dawg......I said stadium. I mean to say campus.
 
I see people commenting on how the JSU campus looks, but to be honest there isn't much to complain about. The neighborhood around the campus is actually what is not so appealing to look at. The construction makes the campus look worse than anything. Both science buildings, the Liberal Arts Building, the Education building, the Library, the Upperclassmen woman's dorm, the woman's dorm, and the music building are actually nice looking buidlings or at least no worse than anyone elses. Cleanliness is more of a problem than ugliness. And that has something to do with construction also. They never cleaned up the campus the last time they built something. They leave the streets and walkways with dirt all over them. They leave dirt and a debre that flies from where they're bulding to other places there. Construction and re-modeling has been going here, on and off, for over a decade.

Thanks Top Dog for clearing that up. I tried to tell TP that Renick was responsible for building the fieldhouse but he wanted to act like a moron for some reason.
