ASU rescinds I-A resolution

Once again GR, you are showing the world how dumb and uninformed you are. You are also showing the world that your reading skills are below average at best.

Aggie Stadium opened in 1981. We have had a working pressbox in our stadium since then. However since we have recently made upgrades to many of our stadium's facilities (i.e. locker rooms, fieldhouse, plaing surface, etc...) we are currently looking into renovating our pressbox and track. After more than 20 years every stadium needs to be enchanced and upgraded. You would understand this if you presided over the condition of your own stadium. But you dont; Dwight Mann does.

Our current leadership has made all of these improvements happen within the last three years, along with improvements all over the rest of our campus. Because of their vision, hard work and commitment, I would say they are very progressive administrators. On the opposite side of the coin, your leadership at JSU has done nothing to improve your football program in the same amount of time. You still haven't even broken ground on your Walter Payton complex yet.

The reason Watson considered A&T for his plan is because he recgonized we are a school who makes things happen. He knew schools like ASU and JSU are much too backwards, and have too many internal problems to pull such a venture off. I just personally doubt that A&t is interested in going 1-A right now.

However, I no longer doubt that you are a complete idiot.

Southern fits all of these, plus we have the attendance to qualify without a problem. We have the tradition, the money, excellence in most sports. But we have one other thing that A&T must not have, enough common sense not to deal with this dude.

Yes thrilla, I am an idiot. So dumb that I didn?t see you answer my question.

Actually, I digress.

I think I?m a right smart fellow. Smart enough to know when someone is trying to piss on my head and tell me its raining. Frankly, I don?t give a damn. I just love the truth and hate to hear a bunch of lolly-gagging meandering around the truth. Progressive leadership? Negro please?..

Memo to HBCU fans:

If your stadium does not have a pressbox, your leadership has failed you over the years.
If your stadiums makeshift pressbox is outside, your progressive leadership has failed you over the years.
If coaches have to crawl on their hands and knees and need assistance from the people that are already on the top to get in said pressbox, your progressive leadership has failed over the years.

Maybe I am an idiot, or maybe I?m a practical logical thinker. There is a thin line between the two.

Carry on?.and please don?t run me away again.

GR, I agree. However, none of that applies to A&T. How stupid do you have to be to not comprehend that we have a press box already. We just want a better one. Sorta like how Southern renovated their stadium pressbox last year. It's called "upgrades."

Actually our previous leadership at A&T was similar to the leadership I see at JSU now. They did not undertand the concept of improving our facilites and they never made any financial investment to improving our football program. Just like your's doesn't. It took some progressive visionaries to come in and spark change on our campus. Maybe one day you will be blessed to get a few progressive leaders at JSU. Until then you will always be long on talk and short on action.

Lewis,

Once again you are assuming things. Please show me where A&T has stated that it will deal with Watkins. All you see is that some gy is jocking us in the media, telling everyone how he thinks we could be 1-A. Our AD stated pubilicy last year that going 1-A was not currently a goal of ours. No one at A&T has even confirmed receiving Watkins email yet.

thrilla

I have seen your pressbox on TV dude....

Im glad my administrators arent as progressive as yours. That would mean we would just be getting lights too.

Dude...Im trying to get off of this topic...but you just keep pulling me back in....

GR, if your adiminstration was progressive as mine you would have something to show for it. You would have broken ground on the WP complex by now. You wouldn't have to beg Dwight Mann to take down the confederae flags from your so-called home stadium.

What has your adiminstration done for JSU's athletic facilites in the last three years. What? Yeah, that just what I thought: not a damn thing.

You clowns have no direction and no vision. You talk about A&T constantly improving our facilites as if it was a bad thing, but the truth is you don't even try to improve your own. That's why your entire program is in a state of DK.

Here is what my progressive leaders have done in the last three years alone:

http://web4.ncat.edu/engineer/construction.html

Please tell me just on thing you progressive leaders have done.

Don't tell me you are so dumb that you can't even respond to this simple question.

Thrilla,

One thing you fail to understand is that the things that A&T has improved upon are things that were CHEAP and needed. You all probably don't have the money for a pressbox because Dwight Mann did not allocate you enough bonds for it. You seem impressed with that list of upgrades at A&T but what I don't think you understand is that most schools are having the same facelifts. You can't even drive on the JSU campus right now because of construction. You keep harping on the Payton complex and saying that our leaders don't have a vision. Well, the Payton complex costs $15M not $2 like your wellness center so that is not something that can be done overnight. That's real vision. Not patch work ala A&T.

You also have to understand that if you all have your Wellness center now, that it was not your current administration that did it. Things like that take planning and if I am not mistaken, when I came to A&T''s Homecoming the year BCC beat you, the portrait was already displayed in front of the ticket line for the Wellness center. Just as that is true, the things going up at JSU have nothing to do with Mason and Culberson. That is the work of the old admistration from as far back as 1994!!!! Mason has called in leaders from Industry and academics to do a study on JSU and you can read it on our website. ONCE THIS STUDY IS COMPLETE HE WILL BEGIN TO MAKE HIS PLAN AND VISION FOR JSU KNOWN. He did not just walk in buy some light bulbs to appease us. The study was a two year ordeal that has just ended and he will reveal his plans just in time for our 125th anniversary. Also, our administration has not been in office as long as yours. Your President had about 9 month jump on Mason. Culberson will just be making two years at JSU in July. If you can name me an AD in all of BCF that can raise $15M in two years, show him to me. It will take another 5 years at least to see Mason's and Culberson's work materialize.

Carry on.

TP, you don't know what you are talking about (again)

Our wellness center was the vision of our current chancellor, Dr Renick. He came in 1999. I don't know what you saw, but there was no plan or blueprint in place before then.

We (the students) had been asking for stadium lights and a new field house every since I got to A&T, but it did not happen until our new leadership arrived. That's because they were progressive.

Also most of our upgrades came from private money and alumni donations. If you look by at that link I posted it will tell you which ones came from a bond and which ones were not. Most of the athletic improvements were not bond oriented.

As far as your leadership at JSU goes, I will say it is horrible. Your people lied to you about building the WP complex two years ago but today you are no were close to breaking ground on that thing. A wise person would take it one step at a time and build it piece by piece. Maybe the baseball stadium one year and the track part the next year. That way you can have some stuff already completed while the other parts of the complex were still under construction. But no. All JSu wants to do is sit around and dream about it and secretly hope that one day everyone will forget that even brought it up. Compliing that "study" is just another way for your leaders to stall for time and get out of doing some real work.

BTW: Our fitness and wellness center cost 2.7 million to build, but our new drainage system, revamped track, stadium lights, press box and parking lot improvements cost money also. When it's all said and done I'm sure the total cost to our stadium upgrades will go over the $15 million mark as well.

The difference is we will actually have someting to show for it when we reach that point. Which is more than I can say for JSu.

Keep wishing on a star, you smalltimer. You still have not named one improvement you administration has done for your athletic facilites.

I fail to realize how you brag about things that MOST HBCUS already have. That aint progressive, that is just fixing what whoever previously was at A&T, messed up. OK it is the 21st century and you have LIGHTS. WOWWWWW. You are going to get a new press box. WOWWWWWW . I will bet you any amount of money that the press boxes you get wouldnt come close to ones at AAMU. Drainage system... WOWWWWW. Track. WOWWWWWWWW... I figure you would have called AAMU's administration a PROGRESSIVE GENIOUS when all of this was built in PHASE 1 of Lewis Crews Stadium. There is a differencee between progressing and CATCHING UP.

How is that not being progressive, Dahill? Do you even know what the word means?

If I have a subpar stadium and make it exponetially better, than means I am being progressive-- by definition.

Crews Stadium is nice so your leadership should get credit for spending the money and having the vision to build it. Aggie Stadium is nice also, so my leadership must get credit for fixin it up also.

Installing lights, a new drainage system, a lager stadium parking lot, a better press box, a state of the art field house, and a oylimpc caliber track all cost money. None of that stuff was built or is being built by public bond money. That is a financial commitment to our facilites that most HBCU leaders are not willing to make. Our previous leadership at A&T was not willing to make that commitment.

Also, most HBCUs do not have the things that you just named. Tennesse State, JSU, BCC and Texas Southern don't even have stadiums of their own. Del State, Howard, FAMU, SCSU, Hampton, ASU and NSU don't have a decent field house or fitness center.

I am not sure what the other stadiums have, but I doubt UAPB and Valley are anything to brag about.

Like it or not, A&T's leadership has done a great deal to improve our facilties and overall football program. Our stadium has a capacity to seat 34,000 and we should have our olymic caliber track installed by the season opener.

<img src="http://web4.ncat.edu/engineer/pictures/existingphoto.jpg" width="400">

<img src="http://web4.ncat.edu/engineer/pictures/newphoto.jpg" width="400">

This is will afford us the opporutinty to host major regional and national track meets and bring in more revenue for our athletic departement.

That is what you call being progressive.

BTW: you can not fault our leadership for the state of our facilities before they got there. You can only judge them for what they have done to improve our facilites since then . And that has been a whole lot.

Thrilla If you dont know what you are talking about, dont make up fantasies to make yourself feel better. UAPB has a brand new 24K Seat Stadium and they have live web broadcasts of every home game.

Nobody here is impressed that AT&T is just now getting a Drain. The State of Mississippi dropped $35 Million to renovate our Stadium. So You will understand why 2.7 mil is chump change to us. We dont park in Grass or on gravel. If we miss a play, we look up at the big screen for the replay. If youve seen our new Tennis and Softball facilities, you know 2.7 mil is chump change to JSU.

Dammit JST. For the last time: you don't have a stadium. The state of Mississippi spent $35 million to renovate the Dwight Mann's stadium. You just happen to benefit from it. Stop claiming things that don't belong to you.

BTW: If 2.7 million was such chump change to JSU you would have spent that ammount in the last three years to upgrade your facilites.

Is that baseball dugout still about to collapse? Does you indoor track still have those moon craters in it?

Shameful. :(

As I have said, Just go look at the tennis and soft ball facilities. Look at the New court surface for basketball.

oylimpc caliber track
What? Adding some yellow and blue lines? That's progressing? Man! Your Alumni could have done that. Adding some more gravel to the parking lot? And that's progressing? Adding four (4) strobe lights around your field? And that's progressing? Adding some pipes under ground so your field dont look like a lake after it rains? And that's progressing? Taking down the tin around your pressbox and adding alumninum siding? And that's progressing?

To tell the truth, all this should have been there before this field openned up.

1. The track should have already had lines. What lane would the runners know that they was running in?

2. The parking lot should have been paved. Why would someone want tailgate when other cars pass through and cause a dust storm?

3. Strobe lights should have been in place. Why play all your games at 1:00 or 3:00 pm the hottest part of the day?
4. Drainage pipes should have been in place. Why would a state facility open without the proper drainage system in place?

5. Press box should have been had alumninum siding. Why have the broadcasters burning up at 1:00 or 3:00 pm in the hottest part of the day in that "Hellhole"?

And you are progessing? Man! you all are just becoming modernized. Riddle me this, PK. If I was to marry a jungle bunny and bring her to the USA, would she "progress" by learning old USA traditions or would she become "modernized"?

Progress my butt! You and that beatwriter for your school sure have alot of things in common. Did you two take the same English class together?

Actually, UAPB's stadium is a very impressive facility. Just wanted to add that.

The pics of your stadium and facilities are nice. Your administration is to be commended.

On the real, if I would not have already been to Aggie Stadium, I would have thought it was the most spectacular HBCU stadium just from listenin to talk about it. A&T needs to hire you for their SID or something. You brag about FOUR damn lights. Next thing you know you will brag about A&T adding 4 more lights, so there will be 4 on each side. You talk about UAPB's stadium, but A&Ts couldnt touch UAPB, AAMU, Grambling, or Alcorns stadium. These stadiums ALREADY have EVERYTHING you just got.

also how many schools have you visited. You said Hampton doesnt have a health and wellness center.... smh You are LOST. There whole damn center is 3 times larger than that FIELDHOUSE that you brag about.

Hey Thrill....Franklin invented the light bulb.....he been dead for about 150 years now.

IM glad your progessive leaders brought you light. Thats impressive.

Thrilla, I hate to tell you this about your own school but you are wrong. I know what saw back then and I believe it was 1998. I even attended the A&T parade and your old chancellor was still in charge. I have not been to A&T since and I KNOW THAT I SAW THAT DRAWING AND IN FACT THEY HAD ALREADY CLEARED THE GROUND FOR IT. I bet if you do some research on it, you will see that I am right. I am aware that your old prez did not want lights so that was your new Chancellors work but again most of the things you all are doing is patch work. That is not progressive and most of it is BOND money not A&T money. Every HBCU in NC got some of that bond money. I know because when they approved it, someone from A&T sent me an e-mail on it. The same is the case with AAMU and the things they have. They won a lawsuit to help them out and renovate their campus...and it looks good. I am with DaHill, if I had not been to raggedy arse Aggie Stadium, I would believe the hype. BUt that is not a stadium. It is cheap aluminum BLEACHERS....NO CONCRETE ANYWHERE. People can stand under your stands and watch the game. :lmao:

BTW, if Memorial is not our stadium, that 30M is going toward a facility that they know that only JSU uses. JSU alone. You can't compare that to TNState or TxSo. We are the TN Titans of Jackson MS. JSU would be dumb to leave Memorial. If your schools is paying $15M on renovations, then that is $15M in JSU's pocket saved. We don't have to keep the grass cut, paint the lines, or clean up afterwards. You do and you pay for it.

Carry on.

TP

Can you answer me why JSU doesn?t have its own lil pissy, 25K seat, with brown grass, no lights, unpaved parking lot, crappy PA system, no plumbing, unclean, outdated, unstable, dilapidated stadium that we ironically cant afford?

Why are we not like everybody else?

Bornsilly,

For your information. Tenn St does have it's own stadium we've been having one for years. You should already know this as we've literaly kicked A&T's axx there on numerous occasions through out the years. However, we're not stuck on stupid when you've got a recruiting tool to use such as Adelphia you go for it.

Tell me something: what would you rather do? own a "yugo" (A&T's Stadium) or lease a "rolls royce") Adelphia.

adelphia_full.gif

You SWAC Hoe's just don't get it. The bond issue supported the building and restoration of classroom and dormitories structures. Any athletic support comes from private funding and revenues from athletic events.
Thrilla is right, your avg. HBCUs don't have the quality facilities. Especially JSU! Now quit hating and get on the ball.

TSU folks the past is the past. Last time I went to Adelphi Stadium the AGGIES came out of there as the Black College National Champs.

SHUT UP:redhot:

GR Havent you heard? JSU is gonna get 10 stout men from Facilities management and build a stadium on campus to match what they got at AT&T and fouthern. We are doing this Just to appease Bornthrilla, Jag03 and Lewis.

Is that what Ray Ray and Leroy was out ther doing? I thought they were putting lights up for the hell of it....I was wondering what all that aluminum was for.
