Beverage manufacturing, warehousing facility set to bring 100 jobs to Montgomery
Diageo North America announces new Alabama facility
The facility will be referred to as “Diageo Montgomery” and will provide a new point of operations closer to Diageo’s beverage distributors in the southern region.
Premium drinks company Diageo North America announced plans to open a new manufacturing and warehousing facility in Montgomery, Ala. The new facility is part of the company’s efforts to “build an increasingly resilient and efficient supply network,” it says.
The facility will be 360,000-square-feet with a multi-million case annual production capacity for Diageo’s leading beverage alcohol brands. Not only will the site enhance the company’s supply chain operations, but it also will support future growth for Diageo’s export business.
As part of the company’s broader initiative to support Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs), Diageo has invested $750,000 across three Alabama institutions: Alabama A&M, Alabama State University and Tuskegee University. Diageo has provided both scholarships and financial support to future leaders at these institutions, it adds.
