Arkansas-Pine Bluff vs Texas Southern: Game Updates

Maybe that is why I had such a hard time getting to Houston......God in His Infinite wisdom was telling me not to go! WOW! Didn't think TXSU fans would display such behavior.....I love my UAPB Golden Lions, but I would not ever resort to throwing objects at the opposing team.

Again, :weee::flippy::clap:.......the last time you went to the SCG I wasn't even born........I am genuinely happy for you!:flippy::weee:

HEYYY thats borderline smack! lol .......~ Wink~ But we going!YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH BABY!!

Another 2 step for the sTu running game. RB Marcus Wright had 26 carries for 134 yards and QB Arvell Nelson rushed 12 times for 114 yards. He also was 14-20 passing for 166 yards, and most importantly, no interceptions. He did have one fumble. But today, Nelson managed the game well, only making one real mistake (the fumble). The fight in the stands was a trip...The emotion in the game ratcheted up from that point. Congrats sTu...I been telling folks since the sTu-AAMU game that if sTu could beat Grambling, they would probably end up in Birmingham. BTW, 24 first downs later, sTu is "MOVING THOSE CHAINS" all the way to Bama.

Yes this was a very good game....except for a few dumb play attempts....got a flash back to the Labor Day Classic there for a moment (JC lose that play will ya...Sheese that shyt don't work).....Congrats to my T-Tigers Boys you stayed with it mentally and now we are "Moving Those Chains" all the way to B-Ham Baby!

I truly hate that you were unable to make the game, I wished I'd have the opportunity to meet you. Maybe next year, again good game UPAB.
This is so ironic........we took Alabama State down to the last 43 seconds of that game on a 4th and incomplete.......we took Texas Southern down to the last 27 seconds of the game on a 4th and incomplete..........both games we lost by a TD............my boys, I'm still so very proud of them UAPB GOLDEN LIONS!!!!!!!!:D:flippy::D:flippy:

THANK YOU!:) I really wish I had been there to see my boys, too. When it was first announced that my group was going to Houston, I was sooooo excited because it would have given me the opportunity to see my boys play their last game. And I had told Panth that I was coming, so it meant seeing him again, and I was really, really excited. But when the TXSU alum (after they talked bad about us) asked if I was coming, I WAS JUST TOO EXCITED!:flippy::flippy::flippy: I especially wanted to meet DCG, the one I hope to be like when I grow up!:D delock, TSU TigerNupe, you, C-Leb, Panth, and Fiyah, and hopefully some more of the PVA&MU family! I think that's why I was so upset about not being able to come!:(

And it was such a good game.........my boys went down, and I would have loved to be there with them, but we were worthy opponents to a wonderfully talented team! I'll be honest and tell you all, this hurt.......probably worse than the GSU game......last game, hoping to see a win for Josh and Ray. But our season is over.....thank God; I was so exhausted........and we have variety going to the SCG in Birmingham. This is definitely going to be a good game! And since I love good football, I may make the trip to BHam......it is my birthday weekend, so who knows!

Again, let me say CONGRATULATIONS TO THE TEXAS SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY TIGERS..........for a job well done!:clap::clap::clap:

I'm thinking this was two separate incidents but O WELL. They are students, young, dumb, and emotional. As fans, we all can have more class.

All fan bases have incidents that they wish they can rewind but what I will remember from this game is not the fight, but the way our team handled the adversity and pulled out a sweet victory.

In the end, the game was settled on the field and not in the stands as we are now the SWAC West champs bringing our train to Birmingham with 8 straight wins.

The radio announcer said there were several fights in the stands and on the field, and that the football players were throwing things in the stands. He said the fight started on UAPB's side.

"The way the West was won"---Now there appears to be a little more parity in the West. What team will show up next year as a winner. Every week next year has to count for every team in the West. Yall will be knocking each other out like a fly swatter knocking out flies. I also predict that SU may be the spoiler next year depending on who they get to QB their team. As for the East - ASU/AAMU/JSU will show up in B'ham. That's the way the SCG been since it's inception in 1999. It will continue to be that way based on history. Hopefully, my Hornets will be there again next year. It also appears that the Braves are getting better, but if they couldn't do it this year like other years. It probably won't happen any time soon. Not smacking, that's just the way it is----

The game was interrupted 25 seconds later when a group of Texas Southern fans got into an altercation with a member of the UAPB football entourage behind the Golden Lions' bench. Police, security and game officials got involved to break up the scuffle, which ultimately led to some fans being escorted out of the stadium.

"They had a bunch of hackers behind our bench, they heckled us pretty much the whole game," Coleman said. "When we scored the second touchdown ... they started throwing stuff at us. The officials kind of got involved because they wanted security to come ... one of our guys, not one of our players but someone who travels on his own that's a part of the team on his own went into the stands, because now, they're fighting his dad.

Anybody who goes on the other team's side to heckled is just looking for trouble! Why else would someone do that????
