You are right, the reason I can't have kids right now..
 
Working for the gov't, I could have many jobs and still retire from the govt. But am looking towards a Ph.d, teaching at a research level university and consulting in during my office hours.
 



Honestly I dont see it. I work for Sprint and well... its no secret how the company is doing these days. Ive already been exploring other possibilities but wont be making any moves in the near future...
 
I will retire from my current job next May, 2010 with 33 years (if the Good Lord is willing and the creek doesn't rise). I have been truly blessed during my work career. :tup::tup::tup:
 
Man amazing how time flies. Yall still got the same mindset from back then? I can tell you I dropped that school stuff quick. :emlaugh: Started then said nope takes up to much time....

I want to get my PHD but at this point, I can't justify additional student loan debt. I am going to start a business in the near future though. I have been making good money on the side consulting lately. On pace to bring in about 12-15k in outside money this year. Not bad on my part.

Yes, I can retire from my current job, Federal Government Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS not FERS), I can retire today if I wanted to!

Looks like I will be retiring from this job because I'm not leaving Chicago anytime soon. That's the only way I would not retire from my current position.

My first day at work 10 years ago my head boss shook my hand and said, "welcome! You only have 29 more years left until retirement". :lol: I looked at him like :confused:

My job is great. Stress free. Great hours. Opportunities to move up (if I could pass a test :lol:). Great location (no traffic). Great pay. Great benefits & retirement package.

Why would I leave?! :lol:
