boxing is in shambles
Boxing has been in shambles for quite some time.
And while we are on the subject of boxing, can someone please explain to me, why the United States cannot win a gold medal in the Olympics anymore? If I am not mistaken, the last gold medal the U.S. won in men's boxing was at the 2004 Olympics in Athens Greece (Andre Ward-light heavyweight). Someone please correct me if I am wrong. We have won a few silver and bronze medals (and I mean very few) since then. Hell, at the 2012 Olympics in London, I don't think the U.S. won any medals at all in boxing. What the hell happen???????

Our amateur program stinks! Upcoming tournament champions aren’t good anymore. Someone like Teddy Atlas or Mayweather Sr needs to take it over and clean up shop. From smokers, to silver glove tournaments to golden gloves to USAB to Olympic Boxing, the programs really need help from experienced coaches/trainer.
