What does them being "defending" champs have to do with anything. Boy you Bama have a way with code words. They were defending champs, what did that have to do with the team you were playing right then.

And since they were "defending" champs, is that any excuse for scoring only 10 points in the whole second half? That was an embarrassment. You are the reason the NCAA changed the rules. Why waste the NCAAs time on a sucka smalltime school like ASU that is not use to reaching the bigtime level.
