Announcement: Southern's band will be in Jackson for Oct. 16 game

Just received some good news from an extremely reliable source in Baton Rouge - SU's alumni and outside contributions have helped to cover the cost for Southern's marching band to make the Jackson State game in Jackson on Saturday, Oct. 16. at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Sorry JState, but this news is just what the doctor ordered. And people thought the Jaguar Nation was dead??? Please chumps!!!! That game is going to be ridiculously sick!!!!!!!!

What, All them six figure alumni that yall come in here bragging about every summer and it took this long?
 
Dude, it was only a FEW days ago when it was announced the band possibly could not travel to away games. I know you're excited about the news - It'll be alright. You just sit back and "Get Ready" for that arse beating the Sonic Blip is about to recieve. :lol:

I'm glad that the Juke Box will be at the JSU game. The Big Cat Classic won't be the same with the absence of either band. Like I said, best band, best fans and best HBCU game day atmosphere.

The football team is going to suck
The school is broke
Yet these folks can raise thousands of dollars to send THE BAND hundreds of miles to hump the ground and do the Dougie for a 7 minute show.
Here's some game. Save the money...we have seen it all before...donate that money to the team or Katrina victims. By the time you get to Jackson we will have seen the Dougie 15 times.

At any rate...don't blame the Jukebox for seeing the boom do the Dougie 15 times before the second week of Oct.
 
It is great that the Jukes will be coming to Jackson. That should make things a lot more festive in and around the game. It will also produce nicer revenues for JSU, the City of Jackson, and its businesses. Thank you SU supporters!

It was a plot by the SU administration to trick it's folks into giving more from their six figure checks. I guess it worked. LOL!!
 
Will JSU band be able to travel to the JSU/AAMU Game? If not we will loan them our Luxury Coaches to drop by JSU Campus and bus them over to Memorial Stadium.

I think it's great, too, Dacon, and if my folx weren't playing AAMU in PB, I'd most definitely be in Jackson to see this battle between the teams.........and the bands. I know it's gone be good because both bands will clown!:tup:
