For the same reason guys like Randy Cross, Harris Barton and Howard Ballard aren't in. Too many super stars in front of em.

Biggest name not in off those great Steelers team. He is the last piece I believe.

Same reason Harold Jackson is not in. But like I said a couple years ago, if Patrick Willis ends up getting in, Brazile had to as well. Same career

Same for someone like Harold Jackson opening the door for Chad Johnson to get in. Pretty much the same career (although Jackson played in a completely different era so his stats alone should have him in

They were determined to make Moss, Lewis and Urlacher first ballot so I actually thought TO was gonna get the short end of that stick when unfortunately affected Walls. He stands a better chance next year
 
Here in the Dallas area it is being said that Walls was a victim because he was a Cowboy. At once point it was said that too many Cowboys were getting and as a result they had to slow down the number of Cowboys who go in. Anyone believe there is something to that?
 
I read that this was Walls last chance to get in as a modern era candidate, after this year he has to wait until he's eligible as a senior candidate.

How does one compare a DB to some cats that played on the offensive and defensive line to make an argument on why he shouldn't be in. (scratching head)

You know what Walls has in common with the players I listed?

They were all great and highly productive key players on great teams. And they all get snubbed for various reasons...right, wrong or indifferent.

FYI, linemen get snubbed just like DBs & WRs do. Its not a positional comparison.

Heck no. LOL. Hell the Cowboys have had a good run of players who have gotten in and it should not have affected Walls. They didn't slow down Green Bay numbers or Raiders or hell my Steelers got 21 in who primarily got in as a Steeler. LOL.

Just think Ken. Ken Riley of FAMU had 65 INTS and is not in and that's number 5 of all time. Lester Hayes is not in. Donnie Shell who had 53 INTs as a Safety and that's playing with Blount and the other great defensive Steelers and he isn't in. Ty Law isn't in yet and he has INTs and SB rings. I just saw were another Bengal DB Lemar Parrish has 50 ints and 8 Pro Bowls or so and he aint in the HOF.
Heck they just got Dick LeBeau in that HOF a few years ago and when he retired he had 62 ints. Dude got in because he was the Steelers DC and they finally felt like they need to get him in as a player. Albert Lewis is another Gram alum who might have been shafted.

Uhhh....I made it very clear in the first post that I was "salty". It has already been said. No shame in my game. However, it has nothing to do with JSU. That's not me. I'm happy for them and Brazile.

It is absolutely amazing the lack of respect for DBs in general making it to Canton.

Everson lead the nation in ints his senior year at Gram with 11 ints (Gram record too). He walked on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent and lead the league with 11 ints as rookie back-up. No DB since Everson has had as many as 11ints in a single year.

He is the only DB in NFL history to lead the league in ints three different seasons. Folks only remember the game when he was posterized in “The Catch,” but no one remembers he had two ints in that game. Without those two ints “The Catch” is just another play.

He proved he was not just a system guy as he played mainly man coverage with the Cowboys. He moved to safety under Parcells and Belichick (who gave him a hell of an endorsement last week) where he called the plays for the Giants defense. Everson made the play of the game in stopping Thurman Thomas for a sure TD. He favorably posterized as a SuperBowl champion by S.I on its cover page.

Is there anything more difficult than catching 57 ints with your back to the QB? The safeties get too much love with their eyes facing the QB. Hopefully, the senior committee will get Everson inducted, but Paul “Tank” Younger should be the first G-Man. His posthumous induction is overdue. Most of his Rams teammates are in, and Tank played both ways. He is the pioneer for BCF players in the league.

I wholeheartedly agree ...

Also everyone on offense from the NFL's all 1970s team is in the HOF ... except from Drew Pearson and Harold Carmichael.

Ben Coates (Livingstone) isn't in the HOF
