these Gags actually thought they were going to run over us? Please, let me tell you how us 12 fans from PV almost got lynched because we started to cheer when we went up in the third quarter. I'll save the ghost calls for another post

Of course, we were outnumbered by SU 200 to 1 but we made our presence known in the second half. After we ran the two-point conversion back on SU and started cheering, I turned around and looked behind me and saw about 30 Mad Jag fans behind us. They weren't there throughout the game but when we started making a ruckus, they came behind us and I was expecting someone to pull out a noose.

Next thing you know, the top row of lights on our side goes out mysteriously and some drunk cat runs way down from the top of the stadium with a blue and gold pom pom shouting, "I heard you way up there, I got to come down here,"

Who is he, the Jag police?

Anyway, when we got the ball and scored on that long TD, Mumford was as quiet as a Mortuary. The only noise that you can hear was us fans causing a scene and me waving a flag. As soon as the celebration got going, I see a set of Constables and BR PD come down into our area all of a sudden

I looked to my right again while I was waving a flag and some dude with a grill full of gold was looking at us like we stole his lunch money. The cops are still here and several SU fans started leaving.

When SU took the lead again, these same fans came back over to us screaming in our faces like we didn't see what happened. (a mysterious TD call). They had weirdos all over the place surrounding us 12 PV fans.

We didn't win and my life was at stake throughout the third quarter but I had the time of my life silencing those Jags fans for a few minutes. If they didn't put a bounty on our QB, we had that game. But you all know, your not going to come out of BR with a win.

Panther Fan,

Please don't tell me that a school would stoop so low as to call the cops on opposing fans for cheering for the team.

Hmmmmn... Didn't Get Ready mention the same thing on his visit to Prairie View a couple weeks ago? I tend to remember him saying a PV cop came over and told him he was cheering too loud.

The difference is PV called the police to shut up Get Ready because there team couldn't (and Band Fan couldn't), the band fan should probably be happy the police came.

JV,

Did you go to the JSU-PV game???

It was a Texas Trooper not a PV Officer that ask him to watch his colorful language(cussin) in the stands because we were sitting next to where they were doing the live broadcast of the game.

The two are different and unrelated....

I think all ya'll are trippin a little to hard the police proably came over to protect the visitors in both case, and as for the fans shouting at you ...you act like this was your first SWAC game damn bro. get a life what do you think all fans do.
Just be happy that you guys have finally gotten more scholarships and that more is on the way.
And nobody i know of with any little commonsense thought that they would blow out PVU with all the injuries we have, yes when we went up 17-0 people may thought they may get a surprise but in terms of from the onset ...get real please

:o :o :o

Bluedog, at PV the laws came over to put Get Ready out for Cussing to much, but they just gave him a warning. Band Fan never said the laws said anything to them. He just wants something to whine about. He acts like 12 PV fans among 15,000 jags makes a difference.

they did, why would folks rush down 80 flights of stairs just to sit among us? why did the lynch mob run start to congregate behind us all of a sudden in the third quarter?

Robber, there you go protecting your leader. GR was probably cussing where the entire stadium could hear him, you damn well know you don't cuss loudly on the side where a home team is losing. That's like me cussing in the SU student section on Saturday.

We did nothing but cheer and it seems like the more TDs we scored, the more cops that started hanging out in our area. Someone must have made a threat to us.

Lewis, are you saying the BR residents would actually harm someone?

they treat SU like their the only game in town, oops, they are.

That's like me cussing in the SU student
You could have come to the SU student section and started cussing out Southern. No one would have called the laws on you.

Panther Fan, don't act like you're the only person who's ever felt scared in someone else's stadium. I've been to plenty of away games (including PV) where the home fans didn't make me feel welcomed. Just be happy the cops were doing their jobs.

And please don't hate on Baton Rouge, because you can go to any SWAC stadium and see someone with gold teeth looking like they're about to mess you up, especially if you're "making a ruckus" for the opposing team.

The truth is that there's safety in numbers, which is why I'm usually not scared at away games. Thank you, Jaguar Nation. Anyway, don't try to take the focus off of PV's loss by talking about the fans, the cops, the students, gold teeth, alleged lynch mobs, the stadium, the weather, crickets chirping, the dew on grass, etc. Ya'll put up a good fight, but in the end, the best team won.

Negro please...anybody that's been to mumford knows damn well we don't have 80 flights of stairs, your are a whiner huh?

bluedog, I tend to exaggerate, but this guy was sitting at the very top of the stadium and he mysteriously decides to come toward us and try to put a dent in our celebration. We were on the last row before the field starts.

Who said I was scared? if that was the case I would have left when we were winning. Being the true fan that I am, I and the rest stuck it out.

Just the idea we came to close will stick with me for another 298 days or whenever kickoff starts in August.

Wait a minute. Just wait on GD MFn minute.

I wasnt cussin at PV. I was purposely loud and obnoxious, but I didnt curse. The person beside me was the person that dropped a loud curse word and everybody thought it was me cause I was standing up teasing the band fan.

So lets get this straight. GR wasnt the MFer that was cussin loudly in a crowd of people. The real culprit knows who he is and Im surprised that he hasnt stood up.

Praire View Didn't Want None

The police protecting the VISITORS? Man Please!!!! The home crowd was scared because a grand total of 4 JSU fans were sitting and talking smack directly to them. There was one fan who wouldn't claim his set at the game.. he seemed to know an awful amount about JSU... I think he must be an in the closet TIGER fan.....

Well I have vowed not to step foot in mumford again in life... those negros down there are crazy!!

their lucky we won't see that place until 2002, maybe their lights will be fixed by then

:snicker:

Panther Fan,

As you can see, there's no need to protect Get Ready. He WAS NOT the person cussing. The person doing the cussing was sitting in my seat. He was cussing at you when we were trying to get yo punk ass to come over to where we were. But the trooper came at GR by mistake.

GR was also cussin up a storm at the JSU/A&T game.

He was telling his scrub players to go have "sexual relations" with themselves and he even called his own coach a very derogitory name that sounds kinda like "rock sucker".

I was sitting right in front of him all night and it made me feel very uncomfortable. :(

I came when I felt like it, how would that look if I came during yall's profanity laced tirade?

I said it was get ready, sorry for the mistake. Get Ready was standing on the bleachers yelling, and I heard a few good words. Robber was standing next to him, I was behind both of them. But the point is still the same. And band fan did not say isth to either one.

Shouldn't you be concerned with basketball right now?:D

Lewis,

Don't waste your time.
