All-SWAC BBall Teams, Rush POTY

on the real... all smack aside do you understand where I am coming from? Its like Obbie being punished for having talent around him that can score.

I can't really argue with that list.........."close but no cigar"

All B.S. aside, I did not think Obbie Trotter would be player of the year. As a matter of fact I said he wouldn't finish in the top two in voting.... he didn't finish in the top THREE. lol. But honestly i felt like he would make first team atleast.....

especially since he's defensive player of the year. lol.

Congratulations to everyone who made the list. I am very surprised with this list. Mr. Vowels need to sit his hungry azz down somewhere. He probably just go check statistics of one game and just say well this person had the most points so we are gonna put him 1st team. He must have not seen D Smith this year.

This ain't the commissioner. This is the SWAC ADs, and SIDs.

2nd team... Coonism at it's best. :smh:

no this is the SIDs and coaches doing. get you info right player!!!! I'm not sure if the SIDs even vote anymore

I too predicted obbie wouldn't be poty, but I didn't think he would be 2nd team.........

What the press voting for? The press can't even name 5 players in the SWAC outside of their city. They don't vote. Who told you that?

I corrected my statement, its the coaches and sids.

Obie is the all SWAC's 6th man. :emlaugh: This can only mean one thing.........The conference is "coming up!." :emlaugh:

Hayles wasn't the best freshman....Jeremy Wiley from PV ranked high in scoring, assists and steals....last 6 games he was averaging 20 points

Too bad the people who voted didn't share the same opinion.

Giving this poty award to someone other than the best player is not anything new. I recall that the conference gave the award to Paul Haynes of *rambling over Desmond Cambridge from AAMU a few years ago.

We will just have to be satisfied with the tail we kick in the tournament.

Thanks Blue for posting the stats Trey Johnson and Brion Rush both lead medicore teams and made them much better than they should have been. Obbie Trotter is very good but this not a career award. This year Trey and Brion we're the best guards in the league. Someone said Obbie was punished for playing on a talented team, I think he was punished for playing on a team that under acheived. This is the same first team I pick on the other thread.

Everybody knows that the SWAC messes things up. I remember the year Attarius Norwood was given POTY. We were happy because he went to Valley, but we knew he didn't deserve it.

its not the SWAC's fault the coaches and sids voted the way they did. Personally, looking at the stats all season, Rush should have been POTY. plain and simple.
