All Stump's Talking......

Now I can agree with this post. The problem that Stump had was he listened to folks saying he was too negative when he got there. Remember he saying stuff like we have problems here. I think he got caught up. Trying to get the Nation back involved after folks had soured on Pete and the performances of ALMOST winning but losing games within grasp with your record setting Qb in tow. The 12-0 stuff should have only been said to the team privately. Stump likes the media. I can tell. He is a noise talka and when you do that.....you will take your lumps. Kind of like Rex Ryan bumps his gums with the Jets. So everybody has put a bullseye on them. Like Ray Lewis said, you would think they already won the SB. Well Stump fell into the same trap with the 12-0 stuff. I am still going to give him the benefit of the doubt for this year and see what he does next season before I label him Bell or anybody else who failed in the SWAC as a head coach. If your coach don't learn from his mistakes, that's when you really got issues. Seems like our DC is one of those who don't. We'll see.

If Stump didn't think his players could go 12-0, why did he lie and make like they could? You just indirectly stated that Stump's a fabricator of the truth. He sold SU folks a "bill of goods" and some folks bought it by the bundle load. You were one of the few to not buy any of it.

That's good that you'll give him the benefit of the doubt, because there's no SWAC team I like to see having a "down" year like SU. If Stump's the coach next year, 2011 will be another "down" year. Stump's history precedes him.

This is nothing like Pete or Casem. They never started this poorly in their first year, so you need to come up with something better than that. Pete and Casem are miles and miles ahead of Stump in coaching ability and knowledge.
His pro-style offense is tailor made to lose and that he's doing with mastery.

Casem took over SU in 86. We didn't light the world on fire and we had NFL talent that got drafted who Otis Washington recruited. I know because I was there. He still got his arsed whooped. My above post went over your head. Because you aint never been a student at SU or know how it is down in Baton Rouge. It don't matter who coaches this team, if they aint a local cat with local ties. They will be challenged to the limit to make it. And even then you better win. It is what it is. That's why Casem always said It is tuff on the bluff. He knew the folks never warmed up to him either. OUTSIDERS have always had it bad. Pete won and still was not always the darling down there. It is what it is. Sure he won his first year......with Casem and Kimble's players. They left him stacked. Casem knew it too. That's why he tried to get SU to hire Cooley. You see how much SU respected Casem's opinion......lol. You can't compare back in the 90s to now. Hell with them players we had back then, even Stump would look good. LOL. Our DC could blitz with that talent. And back then nobody ran the spread offense like they do now. Different era.

Jayrob........you just don't get it. And for the record. Do you think we care that you like to see SU have a down year. We are the only school in the SWAC you JSUers care about. The Bamas ran smack on yall when Bell was there. So did Gram, so did PV, So did folks from the Corn. Yet you guys are only concerned about SU and what we do. LOL. I could go back and pull up posts how the Bamas treated yall on here. But yall shole don't even open your mouths to smack them even when you beat them. That lets me know how much we mean to you.

Will Stump beat Valley? If not, what do you think will happen to Stump on the "bluff"? (no pun intended to mock Stump).
 
Everytime I hear him speak he's talking about the NFL...He did the same thing during today's conference call untill someone said "talk about the SWAC," then a reporter cut him off to ask about the SWAC while he was on another NFL speech

The thing is Monte,Barlow,Jones all have NFL ties. Did he think he was coming to a league with No NFL ties or coaching ability?

But JR, you all went out and hire Dumb Bell's brother. Sweet Lenny. I mean, we ran smack Bama St for hiring Bell's cousin; Barlow. And sure enough ran smack on Annie Mae for hiring Bell's dad; AJ, and still do. Dude, you all just need to take this whoopin like men and stop cryin.
 
This is just me, and I'm a Su fan till I die, even though we're having a bad year, I think that Stump is a good guy with the right players, dude has a mouth piece and I say this becuz I see that he addressed our kicking woes, so he pulled in a top notch kicker, alot of folks not really seeing how this situation is going to come out, I think this offseason will make or break him, yea the season is in the dumpster, but cats like me is awaiting to see who and what kind a kids he's going to bring in, I think he's going to have a nice recruiting class, just something about him that says he can out-recruit the coaches in the SWAC, I think he has that edge over them, so I can see him bringing in some good talent, and plus the kids will be a year older and alot smarter so next year should be a good one

Explain how he has the edge. What can he say that will steer a kid his way. Pete won so can I. Can he show them his overall win%,his superbowl ring, his coaching tree...etc..

Jones - NFL Superbowl ring SWAC title. Several 8 win seasons
Broadway- Florida ties, winning records, SWAC title, SIAC or CIAA titles..
Comegy-SIAC and SWAC titles, several 10 win seasons, Eastern division titles
PV-SWAC title, back to back winning season

He will not out recruit Comegy,Broadway of Frazier. His mouth peice cannot outshine his past.

J Rock the difference between us last year and you this years is we actually had plenty of talent just dumb coaching. We also had the top Defense in the sWAC. We just couldn't score to save our lives but we did that day.

Stump and Co. have a poor defense and and a poor offense.

Actually, I have a lil faith in Barlow. Barlow had been workin with 30 scholarships. He will need a year or two or a busload of transfers to get that ship right. But Sweet Lenny is "worser" than ****. At this point in ****'s career, he had a loss to NW State and a 3 point OT loss to an A&T team that went on to become MEAC champs. He also had wins over Valley and TxSorry. JR used to always say that **** would not have made one season in BR. Well, we shall see how the second coming of **** does. :D

You caught that too? LOL!! Stump was rambling about stuff that had nothing to do with college football. I'm glad the dude cut him off or he'd still be talking about the NFL.

I was a **** supporter mainly because I liked the things he said. He brought to the table everything JSU had been lacking....he promised a run game, a better coaching staff and he was a 1-A DC for years and years so I thought we had a good chance to outcoach some people. However, I recall the first time I heard him speak, all he did was talk about championships coaches he had worked under had won. SU, I keep trying to tell ya'll that JSU has seen this movie and we know line by line how this is gonna play out. Save yourselves!

TP, like the old folks say time and time again, sometimes you gotta literally bump ya head against a brick wall to know that it's hard. SU's gonna have to feel it for themselves. I look forward to seeing that at least two years in a row.:nod:

I agree with your statement.
 
I just think Sweet Lenny under-estimated the talent that SWAC has. I think his NFL mentality along with those ideas from the MEAC boosted him to say the things he said about being undefeated over here and such. I dont merely take that as coach's talk. I really do believe that he thought that we were some push-overs over here.
