All female Jury for Zimmerman trail

Why do y'all think he's going to get off? B/c of the jury or b/c you think he didnt' commit the crime?

*y'all pissing me off*

Since he is not using a Stand Your Ground defense, I think they will play up his "injuries". The problem I see is that one of the jurors said she saw injuries, another said the protests were riots, another has a CCP... I am not sure how these people were not stricken. This jury is custom made for a justifiable homicide defense.

When opening arguments begin in the trial of George Zimmerman, prosecutors will be able to tell the jury that Trayvon Martin was profiled and Zimmerman was a "wannabe cop," the judge in the case ruled today.

Circuit Judge Debra Nelson ruled on a defense motion this morning seeking to block those phrases from trial. The state can also say "vigilante" if they choose, and can say that Zimmerman confronted Trayvon, Nelson ruled.

However, she said prosecutors should avoid saying Trayvon was racially profiled.

Prosecutor John Guy said this morning that the state didn't plan to say the teen was profiled "solely" by race: "There are a number of ways" someone could be profiled, he said.

Nelson told O'Mara that if the state's case doesn't live up to its opening statement, the defense is free to point that out in closing arguments.

"If they don't prove it, they don't prove it," the judge said.

Another major ruling in the trial was expected today: whether state expert witnesses will be allowed to testify about who was screaming in the background of a 911 call before Trayvon's shooting.

But Nelson said in court this morning that she's still working on that ruling, which might not come until Monday

This morning, (Defense Attorney) Donald West got into an argument with the judge about two statements by Zimmerman that defense attorneys want witnesses to tell jurors about.

One would come from one of the first people on the scene, who told attorneys he heard Zimmerman say that he had to shoot Trayvon because the teenager was beating him up.

The other would come from a Sanford police officer who quickly got to the scene. He told attorneys that Zimmerman said he had been calling for help but that no one would help him.

The judge put off hearing argument about that until next week.

You have 5 mothers in this jury.

What do think the first thing those mothers are going to do? Put themselves in the situation.

If Trayvon as their kid-
He wouldn't be going anywhere not even the store to buy something.
He wouldn't have his phone.
He wouldn't be allowed to talk to anyone outside of the house.
He wouldn't have attended a crappy black high school for 2 years like Trayvon did. He would have been gone mid-semester to the school he was currently at.
He would have been busted a long time ago for skipping school.
1 time getting suspended would have been 1 time too many.
If he was that bad of a kid-he would have stayed with Daddy permanently.
(side note-And if he was this bad-how was he playing football? He must not have been good if the school didn't cover his antics up like most do.)

That's the danger of having a bunch of mothers on that jury. Their parenting skills will overshadow everything.

Then you had the witch hunt that made Trayvon look like the anti-Christ. Along with those underage pictures that the media kept showing. Dummies at colleges writing essays saying Trayvon deserved to die. Tons of misinformation. And white America fed up with blacks going after them for anything they do to blacks but not one moment for black on black crime.

Zimmerman walks and the riots will begin.

All these folks see in Trayvon is EVERY single black boy that did them wrong, ruined the community, got teachers fired (for low test scores), dated their daughter/son, got in the White House, was more popular then them and anything else. So he has to pay.

We won't see a change until the races are reversed.

Re: All-female jury to try Zimmerman

(CNN) -- A jury of six women was chosen Thursday to hear the case of George Zimmerman, the Florida neighborhood watch volunteer accused of murder in the 2012 killing of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin.

Five of the six are white. They were chosen from among a pool of 500 potential jurors in the closely watched case against Zimmerman, who faces a second-degree murder charge in Martin's death.

In addition, four alternates -- two women, two men, all white -- also will hear testimony.

Pray for justice.

Re: All-female jury to try Zimmerman

The defense attorney is looking lost. The prosecutor gave it to them raw and they can't throw a punch.

Re: All-female jury to try Zimmerman

I couldn't be on this jury because I already know how I would decide. Zimmerman committed manslaughter as soon as he didn't obey the 911 operator. And if Trayvon kicked his azz, he was only defending himself. I have been assaulted in the dark before. You can't just follow somebody and act like they can't go into defense mode.

Also, while some people are complaining about this and saying we "blacks" are making it about race, I think that MOST people have forgotten how this got started. Black America didn't really get pissed until it was clear that we had to act a dayum fool for them to arrest Zimmerman. Zimmerman was FREE by all accounts until justice was demanded. THAT is the tomfoolery that got everybody crunk. We were like, "they not even gonna arrest dude?" Oh hell nawl! That is how BEING black got in this. I would not even say that the murder was racially motivated. I think he would have killed anyone that night.

I just listened to the "joke" and I still don't get it!! I don't think it was meant to be used as an ice breaker.

The joke was:

"Knock-knock."
"Who's there?"
"George Zimmerman."
"George Zimmerman, who?"
"Alright good. You're on the jury."

He was basically saying that the jury doesn't know much about the events leading up to the case, which could be him nicely saying "these women are clueless."

He's saying that the selection process was basically a search for anyone who hadn't heard about the case, but it came off like an insult to their intelligence.

Re: All-female jury to try Zimmerman

Today started with the Prosecution presenting its case to the judge requesting that previous 911 calls made by Zimmerman be admitted. The defense is arguing they shouldn't be allowed:

http://www.hlntv.com/article/2013/06/25/george-zimmerman-trial-live-blog-day-2

*the jury isn't in the courtroom*

9:36 a.m. ET: The prosecution is playing Zimmerman's "prior calls" reporting suspicious people for the judge. Zimmerman can be heard telling the police about a "black" kid in his neighborhood who matches the description of someone who robbed a house in his neighborhood.

9:39 a.m. ET: On another recording, Zimmerman said he sees suspicious people run or get away most of the time, and he thinks they retreat to the next neighborhood over.

9:42 a.m. ET: Zimmerman is closing his eyes as the recordings are played for the judge.

9:44 a.m. ET: On another call, Zimmerman tells a dispatcher that there are two suspicious "African-American males" loitering in his neighborhood, and he is a member of the neighborhood watch.

9:46 a.m. ET: The prosecution is playing the prior calls Zimmerman made reporting suspicious to the police in rapid succession. On one call, Zimmerman said he doesn't want to approach a suspicious man in his neighborhood.

9:47 a.m. ET: Judge Nelson said she will review the case law and the tapes, and will rule on the admissibility of the evidence later. She has recessed court for 10 minutes. When court resumes the prosecution will pick back up with their case.

Re: All-female jury to try Zimmerman

For the record, I think he's going to be convicted.

The things that give me hope are the number of jurors who are mothers and pet owners. Hopefully, they'll be more compassionate.

Not to mention that I don't think Zimmerman's story makes sense and the evidence will prove that it doesn't makes sense.

Re: All-female jury to try Zimmerman

Question:

If Zimmerman was on the ground and Trayvon was on top of him when he shot Trayvon...would there have been more blood on Zimmerman's close from Trayvon's gunshot wound?

They pointed out there was no blood on the ground and that the first officer on the scene could not find an exit wound

That's why I was asking. Wondering if that could prove that Travyon was on top/bottom (I think bottom).

Warning Trayvon's body is shown.

ANd I'm starting to think GZ got into a fight elsewhere and got those wound. If Trayvon had no marks of a fight on him and GZ couldn't do all that quick enough before folks came out. What did he do before all this started?
