Aldon Smith signs one year deal with Raiders

Treat him like the Cowboys did Dez coming into the league it might help him to get himself together if he truly want to stay in the game

Bewildered, I don't know but he seems to be doing ok... LOL he got his $$, some dranks and some p***y! lol

Isn't he on probation too? Doesn't he have something related to a (negative) record of sorts w/ arrests and other such foolishness? :( Does the $$$$ and ill-nana come w/ that too, while "f'ing off?"

:(

That's Katrina's nephew from this group. I saw her post on her FB page. I don't know if he was going through depression. Sad to hear of his passing.
Yes sir. We recall that he was Kat's nephew. I knew he was having mental episodes but I thought those were addressed some time ago.

I hate to see and hear about young people w/ promising futures transitioning so soon.

I remember when he was with the Raiders, he was actually doing very good, on his way back to form. He was helping the Raiders out in a great way. Unfortunately it was an incident that happened before he got with the team (before the season had started), Goddell and the NFL powers that be would not let it go, suspended him well into the season, and felt the need to keep him punished by prolonging his suspension well after. As a Raiders fan, it felt like they were doing this purposely so he could get a 3rd strike while suspended (or maybe I am just biased being a Raider Fan) which he eventually did. His suspension by the league was extended another year or two later and the Raiders who still had the rights to keep him would eventually have to let him go....

Aldon Smith's brain donated to CTE Center as family's attorneys investigate his death at age 36

SAN FRANCISCO -- The family of former NFL star Aldon Smith is donating his brain to the Boston University CTE Center to research the long-term effects of repetitive brain injuries following his sudden death at age 36.
Smith died Saturday hours after delivering pizzas to a homeless charity in the San Francisco Bay area.
No cause of death was given and Smith's family has hired attorneys Harry Daniels, Bakari Sellers and Wayne Kendall to investigate Smith's death.
"As with anyone who dies so suddenly at such a young age, we understand that there is a great deal of interest in and speculation about Aldon Smith's passing and we intend to get to the bottom of it," the attorneys said in a statement released Tuesday. "To that end, we have taken a number of steps including sending his brain to Boston where medical experts will examine it for CTE as well as other damage caused by years of concussions and additional trauma.
