whatever...

While I do admit that I took the thread off topic, what I said in response to GR was that he was out of line when discussing Alcorn IMO...and also was not valid in this thread. He insisted, so the thread was hi-jacked. On the hi-jacked topic...all of my points were valid. The alumni was an answer to a question YOU & coldsweat posed. I just provided the answer...that's not my fault if you guys were ignorant to the fact.

Lord, bless his heart!

Brave...Im not joking

I honestly feel Alcorn and Valley should merge with JSU. The state could make JSU North at Itta Bena and JSU South at Lorman. Hell you can call it Jackson State Lorman campus/Itta Bena campus for all I care. We can streamline the system to make it more efficient. Once this republican congress digs in after Obama gets re-elected, you are going to hope for a merger instead of a closure. And this time, we aint marching for yall

Always one in the bunch...

I am a White Valley alum and I still reside in the Mississippi Delta and I will tell you this. If Valley doesn't merge with JSU, DSU, MSU, or UM it will be shut down in the next 10 years. The administration is terrible, the campus isn't that great, and they struggle in athletics. Come spend a week on campus and you will find my points on target. And if Alcorn will not hire a guy with good credintials, regardless of race, then they are crazy as hell. Hell with color, hire people who can educate and teach young mean and women how to prepare for life after college, i.e. the REAL WORLD, because the REAL WORLD will kick your ass if you let it.

~~~wondering who has the popcorn, I want some~~~
Aight, the 'white DEVIL' has joined the conversation. Watch summa yall get all 'EF Hutton' and whip-out your old-school Texas Instruments calculators are start 'co-signing'....
:pimp:
What if we don't?
Like they say, opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one. If his opinion has no merit, then surely you must know that ... some ... of us will be taking him to task just like anyone else. Hopefully, he'll stick around. It might make for an interesting conversation. :)
somebody white has spoken...so let it be done
I guess we can put this topic to rest now...gone shut it down Fiyah
Honestly, I do believe that if Valley does not do something fast, they will not exist in their current form in ten more years.
You do know that there is a definite LEGAL PRECEDENT that states that if those three schools merge, Alcorn, being the oldest of the three institutions, would be the sole surviving school. It wouldn't be JSU anything! JSU and Valley would be come Alcorn State University at Jackson and Alcorn State University at Itta Bena. Alcorn is federally protected.
The same thing that happened in Tennessee with Tennessee State and Vanderbilt (I believe it was Vanderbilt) would happen in this case. Since on of the schools (that would be ALCORN) was founded under a FEDERAL LAND GRANT, we would keep our name and you all would become satellite campuses.
Question??? If you felt that Valley was sub-par in providing you an education, cleanliness of the campus and athletics why did you attend? Why didn't you attend DSU, MSU, UM or JSU? Were you provided a full scholarship to Valley? I would never attend a school or stay at a school that I didn't think provided me a great education.
????? Do you read? Who said anything about Valley? I made the thread inquiring about if Alcorn has selected a head coach and folks talking about merging schools. Yeah they really stayed on topic..........
Bro, thats my whole point. The topic is about Alcorn not valley. every thing discuss should be about alcorn head coach. Valley merg and etc dont have nothing to do with the topic.
Antroy...lets not get involved with semantics. The important thing is to continue to educate our youth and provide them with the best opportunities. JSU can do that, not Alcorn. Im sure you know that.
Alcorn don't let the color of any man's skin keep you from hiring the best candid PERIOD!
If the white gut is the best guy for the job then hire him. If the black man is the best man for the job then hire him. Quit hiring people because it is politically correct to do so.
