Alcorn needs to have this one in hand by Halftime. SCG is next week and we can't afford to risk injury and our open our Playbook for the Grambling coaches to see.

I just hope and the female ref isn't refereeing today.

Alcorn isn't even trying to take advantage of matchups. Just going basic offense and basic defense sets. No extra scheming saving that for Grambling.

JSU will probably win this game.

Alcorn has 17 yards of offense....they aren't playing like they drop 40 points on folks head. We're playing inspired today.

Pretty good first half! If not for that penalty Alcorn wouldn't have gotten in the redzone this last drive before the half.
Alcorn misses the field goal! Now can we stay consistent in the 2nd half and hold Alcorn?

JSU 10
Alcorn 7
halftime

This is why we need to move all our instate rivalry games to earlier in the season and do like PV and TX Southern.

THE SWAC CAN'T DO WHAT THE SEC DO!!!!

Guys, we don't have a Ranked System we take a seriously enough with incentive. Example, Bama is #2 playing Auburn right? Bama, loses it could cost them an SEC Championship and Playoff Spot.

In the SWAC however, once the SWAC West and East are won, they are WON Period. Then basically, that turns our rivalry games into basically scrimmages with no implications for winning or losing. How do we know if Alcorn is intentionally being conservative? How do we know JSU truly could have played like this all year?

Notice how the Magic Ciry Classic is played in October. HBCUs need to move all our instate rivalry games to earlier in the year so there is without a doubt implications for winning and losing. Let's be real: JSU and Alcorn are Instate rivals but do both teams really get excited like this when playing ALL other SWAC Schools?

We look bad. JSU's defense looks like they know every play

very disappointed with our ability to pass.

This may be quite wise to save our schemes for the SCG considering its next week (one of the reasons why I didn't want this game to be played during Thanksgiving). Our players body language just tells me they are just going through the motions. Would not surprise me to see Grambling do something similar today vs. SU. There is no incentive in winning.

This may piss some people off but....we are going to have to let Tradition go and move our rivalry game dates of we want them to have any meaning.

I do not like the fact however that SWAC Coaches are being given the power to "pick and choose" which games to actually "prepare hard" for. I think this ability hurts the overall HBCU Football Brand.

Braveheart...what if JSU went into this game tied with Alcorn and this game decided the East? What if the Bayou Classic decided the West? I bet your tone would change. It is what it is and it's not going to change.

That's the thing. I WANT Alcorn and JSU to decide the SWAC East. I WANT the Bayou Classic to decide the SWAC West.

The problem is that this is a 10-Member conference. Now you have a situation like today where if the SCG is next week, why should I as coach reveal my schemes to my next opponents. I don't see the issue with moving the games to earlier in year.

We have to make EVERY SWAC GAME have a legitimate meaning. What if Alcorn vs. Valley were to decide the SWAC East and is the last game of the season for both teams? I see no difference.

Let me ask u a question? If Bama loses to Auburn tonight, is it because Saban didn't want to show Florida anything for next week or did Auburn just game plan better?
