Now @Fiyah

You know the next big argument is gonna be the football schedule ... You also know what i'm going to say again ..

8-game conference schedule ... 5 division games and 3 rotating from the other division ... similar to the NFL rotating divisions in their scheduling. No permanent rivals.

You know a lot of your folks and them others gonna start this permanent rival crap up.

Tell Mike, he owes you the water saturday morning....LOL

Means we are moving to a more competitive division. Did take us away from some home grown rivals (namely JSU right up the road). We just have to step up our game every week. Men step up. No worries. I will miss traveling to Alabama State often if they move off schedule. They have a nice stadium.

Man I am going to miss playing Southern twice a year. It is going to be some dog fights in the WEST though. Southern, Grambling, and Alcorn have won 8 out of the last 10 SWAC Titles. The EAST will have to step it up to make sure BCU and FAMU don't come in thinking they are about to run the EAST. Its already about to be a family reunion with Willie Simmons at FAMU since he was Alcorn OC and Prairie View head coach. Bethune Cookman still owe us a game after they had a hurricane save them from a butt whipping.

Yes, the West is indeed going to be a dogfight in football with the addition of Alcorn State. But, don't forget, the West is already a dogfight in men's basketball with the conference's top 4 teams in PV, SU, TSU, & GSU. In women's basketball, the West has the 3 of the top 4 schools, excluding JSU, in SU, TSU, & PV. The West also has the top baseball teams in SU, TSU, and PV. DOGFIGHT? YES!

Gram is good in baseball also.

Sigh. That’ll go on for days lol weeks even

you mean forever? Forever, ever? Forever ever? LOL

I'm excited about the new conference alignment. Alcorn looks like it would lose playing Jackson annually (if there's no permanent rival and teams roll off) ... but keeps annual games against Grambling and Southern.

Jackson and Valley only have to make one trip to Florida and the Florida schools only have to make one trip to Mississippi annually. Costwise, it looks like Alabama State's going to be the big winner in the realignment because they're pretty much smack-dab in the middle of the SWAC East. All trips in divisional play in all sports are within a 4-hour radius except for BCU.

Alcorn's two biggest divisional games — Grambling and Southern — are within two hours of Alcorn. UAPB is within four hours of Alcorn, and the Texas schools are 6 hours away (but Alcorn would more than likely have to go to Texas once annually in all sports).

All the West division schools will be within a a 5-hour radius ofSouthern and Grambling.

I'm thinking, across the board for all members across all sports ... the realignment is really going to help their respective bottom lines.

What was it like hosting the swac championship game in red stick? Please tell us all about it. And post pics.

LOL ... that pic gonna have that white dream sequence background ... only to have you waking up and realize Bobby Ewing was in the shower the entire time.

Meaning Jsu can possibly play Alcorn back to back weekends in the Swac title game. Or twice in 3 weeks.

I'm excited about this possibility
I'm also that we don't have to deal with Grambling and SU twice a year anymore 😅
