As for Footman, McNair tried to give yall some insight. We no longer have athletes playing wr, we have actual wideouts playing wr now.
But you still have an athlete playing QB. WR's can't throw the ball to themselves. It won't matter who's at WR if he can't accurately get the ball to them. His 43% completion rate speaks for itself. Footman benefited from an experience OL, and Ragsdale being at the RB position. He used his greatest skillset to his advantage. He would've been better off moving to RB this year.
