THE Logical ONE
This is a real slippery slope. I understand where the people at Alcorn is coming from but here is the one major thing that will come into play if the game is move to home and home.
What is now a game that generates annual revenue for both teams, will become a game that will generate revenue every other year for both teams if it is moved to a home and home situation. That can make a huge difference in each program's operating budget.
Not really because 200K is 200K. This is what I tell people about our TNState game...for those who want the game in Jackson. If we could guarantee only around 20K fans in Jackson every other year, it's the same thing as getting a payout every year. So when the Alcorn game is in Jackson and it is our game, we don't have to split anything. In the end though, Alcorn is either going to move some games back to Jackson or take a loss if their team is good because instead of getting revenue for 45K fans, they will only get it for 25K (unless they plan to have $40 general admission tickets). This game is not really a Classic...it's just another game in Jackson. BCF is not a novelty in Jackson like it is in most cities that host classics.
