Alabama State vs Prairie View A&M: Game Updates - 2:00pm CT

Before I say anything on the refs, on a punt, if the kicking team player downs the ball with a part of his body on the goal line, is it a touchback like the NFL?

What happened to Trey Green?

(Just my observations......nothing official)

Trey has been playing hurt the last few games. (I first mentioned it to some of the fellow panthers after the Valley game). His knees seem to be bothering him again. He has been a sitting duck the last few games because he can't scramble like he has in the past. He is not stepping into throws because he can't plant on the knee, thus throwing off his back foot.
No real zip and accuracy in his passes.

No real threat running a read option if your quarterback is not going to ever keep it.

He just has to get healthy to effectively run the offense.

I think in college as long as the ball does not enter the endzone, the player can still down it if his body breaks the plain. I think...

Congrats PV!!!

Same terrible refs we deal with both ways, even I knew it was out of bounds. It still would have been first down on the 1. PV still would have scored. ASU just did the same thing we did last week, jumped out fast and didn't maintain it. Nobody whined about our 2 TDs called back, those weren't stellar calls either. Good game ASU, don't be fooled by this game, with a healthy QB our team plays different. I still think ASU will make a run in the east

Man I just read 15 pages on illegal touching and fumble recovery rulings and it still is just as vague as it was before I started.

As best as I could figure out he is allowed to be the first to touch the ball but the ball should have been placed at the spot of the fumble without any foward progress

There is absolutely no way of knowing that for sure. PV had the ball on the half yardline against A&M and fumble without even being touch

So the refs cost ASU a win. Wow!

No, ASU cost themselves a chance to tie the game since they went 4 and out in OT. PVAMU had 1 st possesion and ASU had the 2nd possesion.

Me too. PV shouldn't have been awarded with that TD overtime. ASU should be pissed.

Do you not think PV would have not scored a point even if they had the ball on the 1/2 yard line?

This is so sad not to be able too acknowledge that the refs may have cost ASU the game. These are the same folks that felt they were cheated out of a playoff bid because of their schedule. It says a lot about character

Lol. I don't know. You don't know. We don't know. This is college football and far from it's best. This is a PV team that struggled to score more than 17 points vs a team that we have seen give up more than 50 points to a SWAC opponent. You just never know. The fact remains that the refs blew a call.

After looking at it further he never got back inbounds to recover

Couldn't see that all of this occurred from my point in the stadium but yes its unfair that ASU was not given a chance to make a stop here. That's a pretty poor jobs by the ref. However you can't say they were screwed out of a win, only an opportunity as the score was tied. You can't assume whether we would or would not score or if they'd make a field goal on their possession had we not scored. Nor can we only fault the refs on only one call when they may have caused the OT to begin with.

Regardless GG ASU and I was glad to see the band make the trip. We've got compounding issues on offense we need to take care of.

Oh my... calm down Fi.

I don't know what occurred and at this juncture I could care less. The game is over, in the books, & will forever be unchanged unless we played an ineligible player. It's no secret how inconsistent SWAC ref'ing is present tense. Until it gets better, all folks, like some of you "great debaters" here will do is simply talk and not seek to try and have the folks do a better job during SWAC football games.

Great effort Bama St. It looked like we were primed for our first loss in the new diggs. And tell your bandsmen that our fans seriously enjoyed that half-time performance; it was nothing short of great.

Who is our next opponent? This game is over. Let the piddling folks discuss "what happened." lol

Team:Win-Loss-"what happened" lol

Nothing against PV I enjoyed the Hill yesterday. I'm drinking water to recover right now. With that being said the SWAC needs instant replay it's 2016 sheesh. Get the call right!
