Man, I remember I talked to Jay one day and he was like, you should have called me when you was in Miami (for FAMU game). I was like, oh no, I would get disowned by my school if they see me with you.You know a game over when Jughead starts yapping about the MEAC and who has the best rivalry. You are being kind and generous. That game was over at halftime, so it didn't really matter much.
The qb got hurt early in the second quarter. We were behind but not so far that we could not come back if there had been a momentum shift in our favor. We did have a chance to do so. They did not realize how bad the injury affected the throwing arm until later in the quarter. If the change to the 4th string qb had been made earlier in that second quarter, and he had made some plays, the game might not have gotten out of hand. That game was over at halftime, so it didn't really matter much.

I knew who he meant...I forgot to LOL at the end...LOLJay Jughead Walker!!! Come on Herb!!!!
Our guitar player was a Hendrix fan and he named the group. When we went on the road with Leon Haywood 20th Century made us change the name...didn't want Haywood associated with drugs. Yeah, the 'I Wanna Do Something Freaky to You' guy....didn't want him associated with drugs.Herb trippin', reliving those purple-haze days back in the gap. lol Me, Fi, and the others of our genre speak haze as in defense-football; Herb over yonda' recollecting about that LSD madre - psycha-drugs and the song that Hendrix and his group sang late 60s. lol
@Herbert77060 I know a lil' something something about all that there. Recall that my paternal uncle was a universal band member of The Stylistics, Slave, The Spinners, and Kool & The Gang all of his life until he retired. He and his sister (auntie) gave too many stories about the late 60s "haze." lol

Too funny lol. Did you happen to interact w/ some of the former products produced by Kashmere and Booker T Washington which helped further the funk era of the late 60s/70s? Think the group Glass and the prof who guided them. Our guitar player was a Hendrix fan and he named the group. Harold Bennett joined our group in Los Angeles. He was out of Kashmere...a hell of a musician.Too funny lol. Kash and BTW were serious about the productive talent they were producing up to that silly assimilation and takeover period of the late 60s. Really talented individuals well versed in every known instrument. My uncle and his "country crew" lol got it naturally and collaborated with the Kash and BTW folk a LOT when I was yet a youngster.Harold Bennett joined our group in Los Angeles. Conrad Johnson was Booker T's band director before Kashmere Gardens High School opened.Kash and BTW were serious about the productive talent they were producing up to that silly assimilation and takeover period of the late 60s. why he left BTW for Kashmere?Conrad Johnson was Booker T's band director before Kashmere Gardens High School opened.
Kashmere was a new school. Several teachers were moved from BTW to Kashmere. Kashmere was suppose to be a white school but by the time the school was suppose open the demographics had changed. The Kashmere Gardens area was initially all white. Black folk lived in Trinity Gardens. If you notice Kashmere was not named after a Black person...it was named after the subdivision. The other Black high schools were named after Black people except for Worthing that was named after a white person and is a another story all together.why he left BTW for Kashmere?
Mr Conrad!!!! That's him. Yes sirrrrrr. Couldn't recall his name dang eldering age smh.Conrad Johnson was Booker T's band director before Kashmere Gardens High School opened.

Those White folks in Mississippi have really done a number on my people in that state. Not EVERYONE is out to get you or hate you. I'm sure he mentioned the Bayou Classic & the Magic City ( Swac) ? FAMU & Bethune? These band classics like the " Boombox" ,"Soul Bowl" etc...havent been on everyone's radar. You serious? that guy really does hate the SWAC![]()
