ALABAMA STATE UNIVERSITY / CRIBS / THE MARKHAM JR. FOOTBALL COMPLEX

real talk, what happened with him?

imho dude just wants to be a power broker and became more concerned with his own interest than the universities. for instance, he helped secure funding for the acadome so, as I understand it, demanded that his name be on the arena or there would be no money and no arena. smiled real big when they took his name off that joint.

That's news to me, because for years, folks here in Atl have said that Techwood Homes was the first housing project in the country.

but either way, it's amazing to see the growth of Alabama State University.
:tup::tup:

I should have said one of the first public housing facilities in the country. I have a copy of the 1937 newspaper article some where in my collection with a picture of Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt at the dedication ceremony. It is historic and the University is working with HUD to acquire the property. That's good news for our landlocked university.

Reed recently retired as the associate director of the powerful state teachers union (AEA) and is currently working on his memoirs and still leads the powerful Alabama Democratic Conference (ADC).
