ERSEY CITY, NEW JERSEY (TICKER) -- Alabama State quarterback Darnell
Kennedy, who accounted for six touchdowns, was named the ESPN/USA
Today Division I-AA Offensive Player of the Week.

South Carolina State cornerback Chachi Sullivan and Arkansas Pine Bluff
punt returner Mark Bradley were honored with the Defensive and Special
Teams Player of the Week awards, respectively.

Kennedy passed for 259 yards and five touchdowns and ran for another for
Alabama State in a 61-58 win over Jackson State.

Sullivan had an 80-yard interception return for a score in a 33-27 loss to
Florida A&M.

Bradley had punt returns of 58 and 77 yards for touchdowns in a 28-22 win
over Texas Southern.

Congratulations Kennedy ! ! !

Despite the huge numbers put up by Kent, Kennedy truly deserves to be the offensive player of the week. Kennedy not only put up great numbers, he lead his team to victory on the road, in a very hostile environment.

Again, congratulations Darnell. You deserve it.

Kent was robbed AGAIN. Don't worry. He will be winning 5 and 6 straight soon. Remember, he is just a So and he is also smart.

I agree TP

Not taking anything away from Kennedy or Bama St. for getting the win...

But A&T's tailback set a record...and Kent outperformed Kennedy. Why wasn't one of them chosen? I mean is it because they lost?

No he did not!!!!!

The object of the game is to win!!!! And if you were at that game, you would have seen the way Kennedy played, how he handled that game, passing, running, truly controlling that game!!!

Hell, I guess your only measure is who has the most yards

btw, were you saying Kent should have won the week Randy Hymes won?

I guess Cleb's boy Chang should be player of the week too since he's leading the country in passing

Congrats to Kennedy

I'm glad ESPN/USA Today know that there's more to being player of the week than just nice stats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just make sure his arse is in class....:redhot:

I had a long talk with DK in Mobile.... He needs to get a little more focused in the classroom, it's a shame he didnt start in Mobile because of is "situation". That i his home, and a talent like that should have been ready to go at home.

Like what?? having nice stats on the winning team?? Don't you think it ironic to say the least that all players came from HBCU's? There were no other 1-AA performances this week? Strange....

But,

Congrats to Kennedy...He played a game deserving of the honor.
