Alabama State Edges FAMU 4-3 to Win SWAC Women's Tennis Title

NEW ORLEANS, La.- Madalena Andrade won at No. 3 singles to seal a 4-3 win over Florida A&M in the SWAC Women's Tennis Championship on Sunday at the Pepsi Center.

The Lady Hornets claimed their seventh SWAC Women's Tennis title and their first since 2021.

Sahra Bouchaala was named the SWAC Tournament MVP and was joined on the All-Tournament team by Andrade and Bea Acena.

Florida A&M swept the doubles to take a 1-0 lead into singles.

Bouchaala, Carmelle, and Acena captured wins as No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 to tie the match at 3-3.

Andrade won 6-2, 6-0 to clinch the match.
