Alabama's Robinson, Jones Won't Be Prosecuted

Alabama football players Cam Robinson and Laurence “Hootie” Jones will not be prosecuted on drug and weapons charges from their arrests last month in Monroe.

Fourth Judicial District Attorney Jerry Jones declined to prosecute Robinson and Laurence Jones due to “insufficient evidence," according to court records. The charges have been dropped.

"I'm dismissing this case because I refuse to ruin the careers of two young men who worked very hard ... to obtain the ability to play a game and therefore make themselves more upwardly mobile," the district attorney said. "Destroying the lives of two young men over the possession of .5 grams of marijuana is not something I'm willing to do."

Bama is gonna get that return on their investment. Hopefully, these two young men have learned their lesson and won't make the same mistake when their eligibility is up. Because it will be a totally different outcome.

These young men got lucky. Now all they have to do is work their way out of the Saban dog house and regain the confidence of their teammates. Hopefully they will clean up their act.

ESPECIALLY with this D.A. in Ouachita Parish.

This will come back to haunt him (D.A.) when the black guys runs. This guy has prosecuted MANY folks with less evidence.

"I want to emphasize once again that the main reason I'm doing this is that I refuse to ruin the lives of two young men who have spent their adolescence and their teenage years, working and sweating, while we were all home in the air conditioning," Jones told KNOE.

I will bet $1 against a dime that some season tickets magically ended up in his mailbox along with excellent bowl game seating tickets should Alabama go to a bowl game.

The lawyer for the two young men is an excellent attorney outside of this case.
