Alabama A&M vs. Texas Southern: Game Updates


Good game TSU! Coach Steve Wilson really took it to Coach Jones! :tup: He played a good field position game early on and waisted time on the clock by running good running plays which eventually worked to their favor much to the chagrin of the announcers!

Special teams, and clock management won this game for TSU. They never allowed A&M to get into a rhythm! :tup: That ball-control offense is a mutha! :nod: :nod:

At any rate, this win will do wonders for yall's confidence for the rest of the season! :nod:

Oh, btw, Robert Napier is a beast.....sounded like that dude had about 4 or 5 sacks. They could never get a body on him!

This is better than the azz whooping Grambling put on them. You see, things like this happen when you don't know how good you are. When you THINK you are 7-4 team but you are really a 5-6 team, you don't know how much you have to improve.

This is great.

Special Teams and the defense won this game for us. You guys are looking at our record from last year 0-11, thinking that a TSU win is a given.

I'm telling you that is not the case....That is why we were so frustrated and the team was so heart-broken. We know that we are a much better team than last year.

Those of us who attended our game against Bama St and Jackson St know that we could very well be 3-0. We still must find a way to control the clock and score in the second half.

All three games we got our points in the 1st half, not able to score in the second half. This is not going to work too many times against high-power offense.


Our first WIN...............YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is off subject, but Bama stomped a mudhole in Florida today. ASU won, Bama won and Annie Mae lost. What a great day.

ok let me get this straight before I go to work and BASH these A&M cats at work.... TSU has not won a game in how many games? 14 or so??
And they BROKE A&M back at homecoming yesterday??

No smack here, but I gotta let my brother-in-law and others at my job have it!!!!

Someone give me the actual facts on this episode!!! :nod:

Yep it was their Homecoming...I was in the house and A&M team looked like garbage. Out-coached from the beginning to the end. I have hope for JSU after watching this mess unfold. :eek:

The only person outcoached was Special Teams coach.... Texas SO has the opening kickoff ran back for about 80 to about the 15 yeardline (that set up a score).... and Texas SO blocked a punt that put them on about AAMU's 20. They had ONE drive the entire game.. the rest was nothing. Field posistion killed A&M... Texas So has a good special teams... There offense or defense did nothing to impress me, we doubled Texas up in EVERY category (They only had 11 first downs and 180 total yards) EXCEPT points... special teams cost us this game.

And yes, special teams did kill Annie Mae, but also the game plan that Wilson implemented! :tup: He never allowed Annie Mae to get in a rhythm...he just kept pounding the ball and pounding the ball. There were several times when A&M started stacking the line, daring TSU to throw but they didn't fall into that trap. :nod:

If they would've started throwing it would have kept more time on the clock to allow Annie Mae to make a comeback. But it didn't happen! Also, Robert Napier is killing the A&M offensive line by his damn self! :smh: That dude was a 1 man wrecking crew! :tup: Each time Kelcy Luke was rushed out of the pocket...you heard Robert Napier!

At any rate, the O-Line needs a lot of help. :smh: Also, Jones is gonna have to let that Offensive Coordinator of yalls do his job! :smh: It's obvious that he doesn't want to allow the dude "he hired" to call his own game! :sad:

BINGO!!!!! IMO... thats what makes Jones a bad control... he is TOO ARROGANT. He let Conner run the offense the entire spring and during pre season camp then decides he is going to call the plays a week before the Tenn State, but honestly the offense didnt have a bad game.... 400 yards total offense, Texas So just had a kicker booting the ball 45 yards every punt and starting us inside the 10 all night.
