Alabama A&M at Texas Southern: Game Updates - 11:00pm CT

Also to prove Jones plays clock management, one of our drives took 10 minutes. I know the other SWAC coaches don't teach fundamentals, but Jones does. That is why we win and have only two losing seasons in 10 years. Everyone else has them 6 years.

BTW, AAMU had 0 drives of 10 minutes. Granted, they dominated TOP, but their longest drive was 7:52.

Attendance: 4484

There was no way there were that many people at this game, may be closer to 484 people.......

that is still a 8 mi drive. We had a 11 min drive against PV. No one else is the SWAC does that. No one. Yall are use to quick strikes and think that is real football.

OK dude...If you say so...My point is, after watching the defenses the 2 mentioned schools (PV and TSU), bragging about an 8 minute drive against them is like being the tallest midget. It's an accomplishment, but not saying a whole lot....Prairie View hung 41 on the TSU defense, and Jackson put up 45 against them....Yet, how did PV look against A&M, and how did JSU look THE VERY NEXT WEEK against SU (who had JUST lost to VALLEY)....

But ok....keep hanging on.

Man yall are something else. Now AU played LSU tough, yet they been getting their azz whipped by everyone else. Yall will come in here saying that was such a great game. :shame: The game is played on the field dude. Just because team A beats the heck out of team B, does not mean team C will be a blow out. That is why 11 dudes line up on each side each game with a game plan. Just like LSu beat Bama the first time, then Bama blew them out in the championship game. That is called football.

You might be a PV grad and all but you not on our payroll so quit worrying about our computerized counting system at Tiger Stadium.

An for the record I am not saying we are a great team. Not at all.

Ummm...yeah. I have WATCHED this team play though. JSU folks talked so much last week about how they found their QB of the future, and how the offense had arrived....This week, they didn't sniff the end zone until the 4th quarter. If team A gives up 200+ rushing yards in game 1, 300+ rushing yards in game 2, 150+ rush yards in game 3, and 200+ rushing yards in game 4.....don't you think it is safe to assume that said team is not good against the run? By extension what is the easiest way to sustain a drive while running time off the clock? RUN the ball....So when a team runs the ball against a team who has CONSISTENTLY proven over 16 quarters (1/3 of the season) that they can't stop the run, does that make you a good team? Not necessarily.

But whatever floats your boat...AAMU did exactly what they were supposed to do. They played mistake free football against a team that has struggled all season to stop anyone at anything, and who has not been able to gain any consistency on offense. I will revisit these statements with you in a few weeks.

Gotcha...I won't make that statement either....You all did exactly what you were supposed to yesterday...Interested to see how the rest of the season plays out.

I sense some Texas hostility.... we kicked your states ass... now time to focus on another SWAC state.....LEGGO BULLDOGS!

Negative. We're not a monolithic group. Some of those other PV folx love sTu and this that and the other. PV people like me could care the fvck less about them people. I speak for myself, Storm96, Blaque, and PV7. Not so sure of the rest (non-employed by sTu).

Nope...no hostility...In years past, the Texas two-step was a monster. This year, not so much. It is what it is. Just cautioning against reading too much into what you have based on your performances against Texas...Take it or leave it.

We see improvements on our end... If this was the first game of the seasaon NO WAY we would have won.... First two games our playcalling was HORRIBLE.... not the execution... playcalling period.... We always had the ability to execute.... but you cant execute when the proper plays arent called. We didnt throw the ball downfield once the first two games of the year and fans were pissed. I was MORE impressed with the defense this game. First team D held Texas So to 6 points. Texas So was averaging much more than 6 points per game.

Offensively we got alot of players involved who hadnt played the entire year. One of our receivers got his first td in 4 years.... same thin gwith the backup running who scored on the last touchdown... a qb who hadnt touchded the field led the team on a scoring drive. All these are GOOD things for players confidence.

No doubt. Good job holding TxSU to 6 points, although I think them averaging more than 6 was an abberation to begin with. TSU QBs, as a group, just don't look comfortable to me...Haven't all year. Your defense played a good game, and TSU never got anything consistently going. You guys really didn't need to throw much. You pounded the ball early and often. Should be a good game for confidence, just hope you don't think it will be as easy or look as good in subsequent weeks.

Me being a PV grad has nothing to do with your computerized (some one putting in a extra 4 in front of 484) counting system at BBVA Compass Stadium :D

Wish I had known that you were there...

Bulldog fans, I wouldn't judge too much about your offense after playing this game. TSU's defense has given up 41 points/game this year. Look at how PV and JSU have fared the week AFTER, though. Injuries and inexperience have ravage their D, so I wouldn't make any blanket statements about your offense after this game.

AJ has often said over the years that he need a QB capable of running his offense. There are many of us who are critical of his statements concerning his offense. His offense was predictable and teams have been able to stop him. What I have seen this year is that his offense look the same, but he has added more plays which so far has confused other defenses. Teams are surprise that we are running slants, and a few other things. If you recall, we were on the 1 yard line and Mason changed the play to a pass. The defensive back dropped the pass and could have ran a 99 yard touchdown. From the stands you could see AJ chewing out Mason for what he did. On the next play he kept the ball and scored. Instead of our free safety playing his position, he allowed the receiver to get behind him for a TD. I think we are going to be ok with players who can carry out their assignments. When TSU QB pass was intercepted on their first drive this set the tone for the ball game. If we had gone in over confident, we would have been in trouble. TSU played decent ball and made some good plays, but we were able to stop critical drives.
