Agreement reached on Roman Banks contract

Details to be released tomorrow. Word is its a 2 year extension at 167k per year plus a nice bonus structure.
 



Don't worry our good friend SUjagTILLiDIE got all the contract details and is just waiting to tell us.
 
was there someone actively pursuing him to commit resources to him when other programs at SU are on life support? or he'll just pick up another guarantee game to pay for the extension?

they can be pro active or be like Norfork State... they looking for a coach.. If they stop looking for the easy way to make money and do it the old fashion Hard way then they will be OK.. People want to see Winners.. you can win in Basketball, Now they just need to get some good games in there GYM, sale some tickets, Win the SWAC, Hope the SWAC gets Better, beg other SWAC teams to limit or be selective on who they Play... TSU is going to be there, Alcorn and Jackson State are doing what it takes, Now the rest of the SWAC have to come aboard

Well, I feel like he has done what he needed to. He didn't expect to win the SWAC in his 2nd year and 2 minutes away from beating #1 seed in the tournament. I understand what you are saying but its plenty of programs everywhere who aren't doing anything and the coaches still get paid a decent amount to do NOTHING.
 



he had a good tourney run but what if he stinks the joint up next year? Again, was there someone actively beating down his door for SU to hurry and lock him up? You want coaches to leave the SWAC and seek better opportunities for growth.

SU programs on life support (everything but men's basketball and baseball and wbb is up and down)

What if he Kills the SWAC and Do Good in his OOC games? Schools come at him, you left with starting over again and hoping you hire a better Coach..
I believe you dont want Coaches to leave the SWAC and seek better opportunites for Growth but you want Better Coaches to Come into the SWAC and give the SWAC a opportunity at Growth.

I believe that Programs are so up and Down because you have so much transition. You have to become stable before you can come of Life support

lol. He ain't trust that, SU will be loaded , yes, maybe that's what you want for PV, but unless its a high major, he can accomplish everything at SU that he could a mid major. Banks said SU was his dream job, grew up around the program and going to games. He also said in Louisiana, minus LSU, SU had the most potential.

No other sport is revenue-generating (at any school), so what's your point? The man didit fo 2 years straight and got a 2 year extension.
