Aeneas Williams showing his ass...

It is not everyday that I congratulate a player for having a great game. But I have to congratulate him today. I think that his two interceptions for TDs in a playoff game is an NFL record.

Like Payton was, he is not the biggest or the fastest. But he is one of the best. I am very picky when I put a defensive back in the category of a Mel Blount, Ken Houston, Lem Barney and a Willie Brown. But I have to do it for Aeneas. Like those guys of the past, Williams hits hard.

Consider this. All of those years he played with the Cardinals. They did nothing but lose for so long. They did not get a playoff win until beating Dallas in Dallas during the '98 season. That was the first playoff win in fifty years for the franchise. Anyway, I am glad that he got to play for a winner in St. Louis.

I expect him to pick up a Super Bowl ring this year. I expect him to be wearing a gold jacket and giving an induction speech when he is going into the Pro Football Hall of Fame within the next 12 years.

I remember the first time I saw him play at SU. I remember thinking,that dude can really play.

A complete cornerback in every sense of the word===>smart, great hitter, excellent cover guy and a true professional. One of the best ever in the SWAC and the League. A sure Hall of Famer!
 
Aeneas had a great game. He was really in the zone. He was all over the place!! I told my husband (znspr8502) that Aeneas would definately win this year since he has on the right colors (blue and gold)!!!!
 
Ya'll know I'm always bragging on Aeneas. The city of St. Louis loves him to death. How cool would it be for him to go back to his hometown and turn it out in the SB? He truly deserves it. It really says something about his talent that he has been able to make the pro bowl all of those years even though the Cardinals were crap.

.....correct me if I am wrong. Wasn't Aeneas a walk-on with Southern University Football Team? I thought he was. Anyway, I remember this guy back when I was school. He and his girlfriend were very nice people. I met them through the Greek World on the Yard.

Yeah Aneas walked on his SOPH or Jr year. His senior year on the field he had already graduated and was in grad school. Can you imagine walking on at SU, earning all SWAC and then have a career like he has in the NFL. Amazing. Aneas is a class person. I 've only met him a few times. I know his brother Achillies pretty well from our days on the yard and in H-town. Cool folks. I am glad he got of Arizona finally.
 
I saw him play when I was at SU and he does have skills. He played on the lowly Cardinals and put up the numbers. Now he is with a championship caliber team and I hope he gets that ring. :)
We need a team in Los Angeles, any suggestions...though I am a Titans fan.

Again he did it. He made a big play and set a record in the process with an interception in his fourth straight game. Congrats to Aeneas!!!

Now he can go and get his ring in his hometown.

Lovie Smith should be getting a head coach position soon.

You seemed confused by my post about Aneas and his brother.
I don't know if you followed what I was saying on knowing Achilles(probably not the way he spells it) during our days on SU's campus(84-88) and when we both were living in Houston after college. I read he was in New Orleans now, but he lived in H-town at until at least 98. So what were you confused about?:confused: :confused:
 
I was watching the game with my sister (diehard Gramblinite) today. When Aeneas's name was called, she said "Isn't that the sum***** that played for Southern...that bastard used to give us hell. I'm for the Rams then if he plays for them!"

She was really being complimentary. She told me that Aeneas and his brother (Kelley who is the CEO) had purchased some auto dealerships in Monroe, La and Bastrop, La. The Monroe paper had an article on Aeneas and mentioned his auto dealerships, Williams Automotive Groups (Buick's, Toyotas, Honda dealerships.

I was torn between Philly and the Rams because of McNabb (brutha qb). Now, it's easy...I'm going with the Rams! It was good to see Williams make the game clinching interception today!
 
Aeneas and Kelley (Achilles) did buy those dealerships in both Bastrop and Monroe and they've hired quite a few Southernites. Kelley bought a house in Morehouse Parish, 10 minutes outside of Bastrop, in the boonies. He loves it out there. The dealership is doing quite well. Both of them are interested in doing things in the community and plan to do more in the off season. Bastrop especially needed some black role models who own their own businesses. The kids in that area need to see some brothas doing some positive things.

So Achillies is outside of Bastop. LOL I never picture him being a country boy. Anyway it's good to see those brothers do well. i can remember Achilles working for the Charlie Thomas(former Houston Rockets owner) Auto Group in Houston. So I know he's in tune with that type of business. Good for him and Aneas.

I was hoping for Pittsburgh and the Rams played in the bowl. We could have had all the New Orleans stories and had a black qb in as well. Plus I was really rooting for Aneas. McNabb will get another chance. He is definitely a player. He just needs some more offensive help. I look for the Rams to slaughter NE. But you never know.

Yeah, I think it was the way you spelled it. I was going to ask you is it spelled like the muscle in your foot?
