According to WSFA News, Valley expects to name Comegy as next HC

But, that is the bill of goods being sold. For what they really had in mind, they would be better off having an interim for next season. I heard a doozy yesterday. All I could do was :smh: And don't ask. :
 
Comedy should demand at least 50 scholarships. No coach can legitimately compete with 40 scholarships.

Robber, Comegy had been to the last two championship games. Sure, he didn't win but it's kinda hard to win a championship if you don't go. He was getting you there. When Comegy was fired he had the best SWAC record of all the coaches in the SWAC on that day.

If you all ARE NOT concerned with moving JSU forward and that's just a "bill of goods" as you claim, then the decision to fire Comegy may be one of the dumbest decisions in the history of the SWAC.

I'm happy for Coach Comegy and MVSU. Comegy is a solid coach and will do a lot to energize the MVSU community, elevate the program in general and lay the ground work for a winning culture. This is easily the best coach in their history. Make no mistake about it, Comegy still has a lot of fire in him (probably more now lol). He'll get in some athletes to help them to be more successful right away, but the biggest payoff for Valley will be a new attitude and energy around football in the delta. Great hire.

So he's going to do at Valley what he couldn't at JSU? Valley will be better than before, but where they were during totters best years in the early 2000s is the best they should expect. They still lack resources.

Huh? What part of what I said are you calling into question? -Energize community -Elevate the program -Lay the ground work for a winning culture -Get in some athletes to help them to be more successful right away -New attitude/energy around football?

We, as a people, have such a short memory. lol

Dude I used to talk to the JSU AD about this ... from Braddy to Culberson, and Valley didn't wanna play. Culberson even wanted ya'll to move your game to Chicago on Labor Day weekend but ya'll would never want to play us on that day. Now go solve something else for me.

I agree... A winner is a winner. Comegy won't be last in the division.. not even this year... and he will prob schedule like Alcorn's coach to get an inflated record. It's not like he HAS to play TNState every year.

The EAST just became more of a beast!

We turned the ball over countless numbers of times and still had a chance to win. We looked like shit out there, the play calling was horrible. Comegy led us as far as he could mane....

Two years ago, it was 42.. not sure if they raised it in the last year or two.

Comegy had to work with 50 at JSU for two years under APR penalties. If Valley can give him 50-55, he should be fine. ..and he will HAVE to raid the JUCOs at Valley.
 



Nobody knows what harold or whoever will do...its not hard to win in the swac lol not hard at all. I stand by what i said, we need to go in a new direction and ricardo was not apart of that. Not then, not now.

And Harold is? Better off keeping Comegy for one more year. You can't sugar coat it. Your wiser JSU alums are pissed off and in disbelief. If it was so easy to win the SWAC then Comegy would have won multiple times. Bell would have won.

No, we had to get rid of Comegy. It was simply not working. We have some good players. Our coordinators were just not gonna get it done. We can't do any worse in the OC department. Seriously.

..and yes, alums are pissed but that is becasue they had a grand idea of what was happening. Some people tried to tell us the plan all along, we just didn't wanna hear it. It just didn't sound right. But now, it's right in our faces. So whoever is mad, let them be mad. They won't be mad for long.

What was this grand plan, TP? To replace the best coach in the SWAC with somebody who you don't know if they can run a successful program or not? Was that this masterful plan you speak of? :|
