wut happened TSU? :mrt: yall had no book wut so ever and please get rid of that 1970's mega mix that yall have that goes on for about half of a quarter that high school siht sucks. yall had size only no sound no music and no show. I thought that yall would have at least came correct on that aspect of the game. sorry maybe next year. If anyone that was at the game who does not attend either school please post your thoughts.

I wasn't there but people on other sites are saying differently.

Well I attended both schools and now attend AAMU and BOTH of yall was boring... hell the whole game was boring. AAMU just sat there and let TSU play that long ass megamix...Every other year AAMU cut through that **** and then they stop playing it... this year the band just sat there... If you dont play nothing TSU can start the mix at the beginning of the 4th and play that **** the whole 4th quarter.... It wasnt no W or no L for either school.

Only W handed out was the Divas... they KILLED the Sophisticated Ladies.... folks on TSU side were doggin out the Sophisitcated Ladies....

I was at the game and I must agree with Dahill because neither band was impressive to me at all. AAMU were holding over on some notes on various songs and that really didn't sound good from where I was sitting. TSU I couldn't figure out what they were playing half of the time so I stopped trying to ! Overall, both bands could use major improvements and get prepared for the next performance.

Well i was there, and you should believe the ones from the other sites. AAMU's field show wasn't worth a dayum. From the time they marched on with those EXTREMELY crooked arse lines to the time they marched off was nothing, with the exception of their majorettes who did a very nice dance routine. We didn't know what the heyal was going on during the dance routine because the announcer was drowning them out with all of that talking/rapping, but i'm sure we didn't miss anything. Our dance routine killed yours. I don't know what either band did for a drill because the camera man wasn't really showing the above view that much, but i'm pretty sure we out drilled you guys. However, i did see a picture of the very impressive small square inside the big square that you guys formed . I'll be the first to say that TSU need to workout some kinks, and i'm sure that goes across the band board at the first game, but to deny that we were better is a bunch of crap....or as some of you say, "ness".

DAHILL, cut the "there was no W or L" crap. I'm sure folks will be able to interpret what that means. It simply means, "I can't honestly say that we were better, but i have to save face somehow". I know it's important for you to save face in front of one of your SWAC band idols, who shall remain nameless, but get real. Oh, and "the mix" is not that long, so quit crying. You may not like it, but thousands of others would beg to differ. It gets the crowd hype EVERYTIME, don't you agree?? :D Are you upset that A&M didn't think of it first? Oh wait, i forgot, the MMW has yet to do anything original.

See ya next year :D

Oh, one more thing to the person that started this post. What do you mean we had no book?? If that's the case then how did we run the MMW out of the Colliseum and back to BAMA in the box they rode in on? Why didn't the band turn at an angle to face us not ONCE from the 1st through 5th quarter? I just wanted to state my point and i'm not going to get into the back 'n forth debate because it's pointless.

"The Pride of Huntsville".......gotta love 'em. :D

lmao@run... AAMU always does 5 and out on the road.... With the mix it isnt that I dont like it... I like ANYTHING that gets the crowd involved... but I just know how Wesley is... he aint gone play if the other band was playing... If I was him... I would have played reguardless instead of sitting there waiting for TSU to stop playing. AAMU didnt have to turn to TSU... TSU officials should have sat the band right in front of TSU like they did at the last JMC.... I hope the 2006 game is at Legion Field... aint no angles in Legion Field... both bands right in front of each other... I hear the game will be back in Nashville next year.... maybe the TSU SGA should have a battle of the bands the night before... it could raise alot of money for the SGA.

Dude your Tuba section had crooked lines all night. Your field show was terrible. Your sound drops when you march and you don't know what 4 and 8's are. People were turning before they had too. I have never seen TnSU look this bad. I have been following TnSU state since the 70's and you all need to hit the field at 5a.m. for pratice.

also TSU field show wasnt what I would call "tight"..... it was a "homecoming" show IMO... all of the oldies.. Oustanding and Super Freak.... I know that was a tribute show but it could have waited for homecoming... then "COME ON RIDE THAT TRAIN" by 69 boys for a dance routine???? Then the Sophisticated Ladies were getting booed by everyboy in TSU's section because that is where I sat.... Looked like they were trying to do gospel mimes to that watered down arrangment of Toxic.

AAMU's dance routine could have been better if the announcer wasnt so damn loud... maybe he wasnt use to the acoustics that the Coliseum had, but he still should have adjusted... they need to take a mic and some speakers on the field instead of trying to do it from the press box of a NFL stadium.

your right at the beggining of the mix the crowd was hype but some where between the 2nd and 3rd song it lost its intensity, as far as sound for us to be as small as we were we had sound. as far our announcer he was on the field during the show i guess he was just hype but thats how an announcer should be. as far as havin a book TSU played the same old songs(the show, hey, speaking of hey why would you play that after Jesus Walks) so yea yall had no book, come with some new songs, some top 10. and whom ever said that MMW has nothing original knows nothing about us. we have original songs and cadences. maybe yall would be better if yall stop playing those watered down, high school arrangements.

Well sounds like you some issues with TSU. Judging by most of the posts on the 5th quarter, majority of the people gave the W to TSU just by a slight edge. They said TSU dance routine was better, and the drill was better. I know if DAHILL gave TSU a compliment, something must have been good. I already know AAMU's dance girls are way better than TSU's.

High School arrangements, boy please. You sound very ignorant right now. TSU's arrangement are very complexed and with all the literature a musician should encounter.

As far as originality, AAMU you don't have it. Your marching style is patterned after ALABAMA STATE, everything from the arm movement to double timing. The arm movement ASU does resembles the wing of the hornet, hhhhmmmmm, where does the arm movement that AAMU does come from and resemble, nothing!!!! AAMU uniforms are patterned after BAMA State's, everything from the hat to the tuxedo coat tail of the band uniform, bama state were the first to have those and AAMU copied. So lets not step on any toes. And as far sound, you guys may have it, but from resources you did not blow TSU away. For one thing, you guys need to recruit and get some members in your band, cause the only band that looked high schoolish was AAMU's 128 member band, compared to Tenn St.'s 220 piece band.

So AAMUdrummajor, stop talking so much hype. It sounds as if you are a typical hater of TSU, maybe because you did not get accepted there are something. I like AAMU, but don't bash my program, cause I will bash yours

Good luck with the rest of the season.

NOW I NORMALLY DON'T COMMENT ON THESE FORUMS BUT ONE THING I CAN'T GO WITH IS COPYING OFF OF BAMA STATE YOU ARE TOTALLY FAR OFF AAMU HAS IT'S OWN STYLE WHICH HAS BEEN IN PLACE SINCE THE EARLY SIXTYS THEY MAY HAVE MANY SIMULARITIES WHICH MANY SAME STATE SCHOOLS DO BUT THEIR IS NO COPYING . AS FAR AS THE UNIFORMS GO AAMU LIKE TSU HAS WORN THE SAME UNIFORMS FOR OVER 25 YEARS . WE MARCHED IN THAT SAME UNIFORM WHEN I WAS IN THE MMW IN 1980. I WASN'T AT THE GAME BUT I WAS TOLD THAT BOTH SHOWS NEEDED WORK BUT THOSE 220 DID NOT BLOW AAMU OUT PERIOD. LAST YEAR YALL SOUNDED LIKE SKEEGEE WITH ALL OF THOSE PEOPLE YOU NEVER HAVE SOUND AND THOSE PITIFUL DANCERS :mrt: I HAVE VE BEEN WATCHING TENN ST SINCE DR SIMPSON CAME TO LEAD THE MUSIC DEPT IN THE EARLY 70'S AND YOU CANNOT LIVE UP TO THE PAST .BACK IN THE DAY WHEN YOU USED TO PLAY FAMU ON CAMPUS YOU HAVEN'T BLOWN LIKE THAT IN 20 YEARS . EVERN WHEN YOU USED TO COME TO HUNTSVILLE IN THE 80'S I DON'T HATE TSU BUT I KNOW WHAT THEY ARE CAPABLE OF, THE SAME FOR AAMU . THIS WAS THE FIRST GAME WE NEED TO GIVE THEM BOTH A BREAK . THATS WHY I DON'T LIKE CLASSICS IN THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON .

Our march style is not like Bama State. Yes, they have the wing. We never have our arms up that high at anytime. I don't know what you were looking at, but it couldn't have been AAMU.

As for the uniforms, they have been the same since my mom was at AAMU (69-73) and before her. The only difference was that they had all white back then with Maroon trim.

Also, for you to say something about size. This is only the second time in the past 8 years that TnSU has had a larger band than AAMU. If I know my band like I know my band, you could still hear them as if they were 250. From what I heard your band had about a billion Clarinets and Flutes, anyway. So, if you want to brag about that go ahead. 128 is the number that Southern marches. I guess they are small, too. I guess you would've blown them out as well.

:smh:

lmao... AAMU's hats look NOTHING like Bama States hats.... Matter of fact AAMU had the "buffalo hats" BEFORE TSU had them... Also AAMU's uniform looks NOTHING like Bama States.... TSU was larger than AAMU but ONLY because of flutes and piccs... the brass was about the same exact numbers... so if you get crunk off having 40 clarinets then thats on you.... doesnt excite me, I look at brass and if you thought TSU was 220... then you cant count. TSU's dance routine started off crunk with Lean Back and No Drama... but after that they played "cOME ON RIDE THAT TRAIN"... hell i was in high school when it came out... that was back in 95. AAMU has had the same uniform design since WAYYYYYYYYYYYY before you were born so how can you say it was copied off of Bama State? Bama State has a TALL hat with a hornet design on it... AAMU is NOTHING like that.

Never did I say that TSU blew AAMU out, for one thing I was not able to make the game!!!!!! I simply said by reading some of the other comments on the 5th quarter, most people were giving the W to TSU by a slight margin.

Dahill, yes TSU does have 200 instrumentation. So what if they are piccs and clarinets, they had 6 lines of 32 people. In other words 32 people on six lines, so 6 times 32 is 192.

It's over, its done, AAMU is aiight with me, but no better than TSU.

First off, are you for real. Just judging by your overall dialect and english grammar, I don't think AAMU is doing you any justice. LOL... You have run-on sentences and fragment sentences all over the place! Oh, by the way, most educated people along with myself didn't know that muh was a word.

Of course you are entitled to your own opinion, but yours mean nothing!! Most people said the total opposite about what you are saying!!

You are a joke! You must be in english remedial classes at AAMU because your overall dialect is elementary.. So embarrassed for you, so embarrassed :shh:

Bulldog,
I am sure that you all have a style that may have been in place for quite sometime now as most schools, but if you see that it's not working then fix it. I am not trying to clown or anything, but the program could use alot of work. AND I DO MEAN ALOT!!!

CLEAN YOUR OWN YARD FIRST BROH . YOUR PROGRAM NEEDS SOME SERIOUS UPDATING BUT I REALLY DON'T CARE. I ONLY ANSWERED TO THE STATEMENT OF US COPYING FROM BAMA STATE . AAMU'S PROGRAM IS FINE ATHLETICS AND MUSIC. I'M NOT TRYING TO CLOWN BUT ALL THE BAD PUBLICITY FAMU HAS HAD RECENTLY I WOULDN'T BE CRITICAL OF ANY ONES PROGRAM. DAMN YOU GOT SWD IN ATLANTA DOING A FAMU SHOW BETTER THAN FAMU.
