AUBURN, Alabama -- Auburn's non-conference opponents for the next two seasons are set.

The Tigers' 2016 slate was completed recently with the school adding home games against Louisiana-Monroe and Alabama A&M, an Auburn administrator confirmed to AL.com. Auburn will also host Clemson and Arkansas State. Contracts for the games have been signed.

News of the schedule was reported earlier Thursday by the Montgomery Advertiser.

Auburn is expected to host Louisiana Monroe on Oct. 1 and Alabama A&M on Nov. 19 in 2016.

Auburn announced its 2015 slate in the fall.

How you feel about playing Auburn? You think it's good for AAMU or nah?
 



Its the same time we played Auburn the last time.... I dont particularly like the game... but the team loves playing the "big boys".....
 
TP we dont care bout a Ga tech...Auburn is a better football program obviously

props to AD Hicks....I wonder will we get that half million again...

Georgia Tech and Auburn last met in 2003 and 2005.. Who won? (you know I wouldn't ask if... :lol: )
 
I like the Auburn game for 3 reasons: 1) Recruiting 2) Regional Game 3) Money! A lot of football programs are not making money, even with our attendance being average, we are making money. Our AD goal is to play 1 FBS money game each season. It is a great recruiting tool regardless of the outcome. I would much rather play Auburn instead of Virginia Lynchburg or Louisiana College!

Money - The payout from these "money games" are played to get a big payday. 2016 -2017 would probably be the last year of these games. The College Playoff System is going to kill these "money games." When the FBS college playoffs are increased to eight or more teams and strength of schedule comes into play for seeding, FCS schools such as the MEAC and SWAC best have a plan to generate additional revenue to help supplement their budgets.

Get the money now because the Big Five Power Conferences (SEC, Big 10, Big 12, ACC and PAC 12) are going to stop playing these money games as the FBS Playoffs expand to more than four teams. The Big 10 is the first to say "No More" to these games. The others will follow.

But the money is having a negative effect on our programs.. We can't recruit, athletes or Students because we have proven that they are superior. We killed our own attendance because fans want to see "superior"ball... In this has been going on for 10 years Now, in we are actually going backwards in the Money department

Our schools are all located in SEC states, we will continue to have these opportunities as the SEC will still have at least one or two "soft" scheduled OOC games per team each year...

It payed for that new turf we got and having our stadium painted and other things. When you live in a red state who only supports AU and UA the money has to come from some where.

:tup: Playing a big time opponent ("money game") in state, I have no problem with that!
 
Auburn playing A&M is good for our state!

Its AU fans who prefer playing us then giving that money to a school that's out of state.....plus the relations are strong in regards to education...we have partnerships with AU since we are both Agricultural schools.
