On this, I don't see what the problem is. SU has just put in MAJOR renovations to their facilities .......... turf, press box, jumbotron, and now new seating and clubhouse.

If you want to have a nice showplace, you are gonna have to pay for it. Unlike the Michigans and Nebraskas of the world ----- WE DON'T HAVE PEOPLE DONATING $10, $20 OR $30 MILLION OUT OF THEIR POCKET'S TO GET THIS TYPE OF STUFF DONE.

Heck ......... JSU been paying over $20 for years to see the team play at home. On top of this, I have noticed in the last few years that some school's raise their ticket prices just for 1 game ............ JSU. Valley has some of the lowest tickets anywhere, BUT, the JSU game was raised to $25 per ticket.

People get used to this. It's not going to just affect the "big 3". Eventually everyone is going to raise there prices. It's going to happen. Either plan for it or sit in the parking lot and eat chicken.

Personally ............... I'M GONNA EAT MY CHICKEN AND THEN WALK THROUGH THE GATE AT MEMORIAL WITH MY $22.50 GAME TICKET IN HAND EVERY WEEK. :lecture: :hat:

I am not at the point of where I can give $25 to watch SWAC sports. I know there are Dallas Cowboy tickets that hit about that price. Maybe because I have a choice, but not until the SWAC can make some simple changes (like better refs, proper schedules, you know THE NORMAL FOOTBALL ISH), I'll continue to pay $12 for SWAC football, that's all its worth.

uh Bluedog...the new stadium will bring our big games back to campus...in 2006, when we host SU and TSU....we will have two games with at least 25K....throw in another homecoming with at least 17K and the GSU game if the neutral numbers count, that's 65K...

that's 4 games already with big numbers....don't let us have a winning product and we'll draw decent on the non-big games.

I know you all don't research, but if you look at attendance when our baseball and basketball teams were winning in 2003 and 2004, it skyrockets.

as for SU, that $28 novelty will wear off real fast with an unexpected loss and moving the students and band? :lmao:

You know that Labor Day Classic is not moving from Houston to PV.
Thank you! Hell they can't even fill Reliant stadium so how in the heck are they going to magically come just because its on campus? The crowds they have for the SU game is 90% SU,so how in the heck is one game every other year going to help?

I can't imagine the pickle they'll be in if the SWAC goes back to the seven game rotation like everyone's wants. Guess who's going to be on the bottom of the list for rotation, than it'll be every three years. :smh:

Don't be so sure......Rice & UH was signed to play in Reliant for 2005/2006 and they play on Labor Day Weekend also. PV & TSU still had more attendance then their game and everyone knows they give thousands of tickets away for that game too.

Sorry but it's not 90% SU however you want to spin it. Yes that game does have a higher attendance than most of the other games, but moving it to campus only makes better sense if you have the stadium to hold the crowds. Why pay someone else to hold the game and get all the revenue when you are capable to do it yourself.

SU was one of the biggest proponents of this 9 game mandate and since SU is in the West they will always be on the schedule. The rotation will only be for those teams in the east.

I agree with Fiyah and the band fan,

Don't be so sure. The Astrodome after this season will no longer hold football games and Rice and UH with it's contract it could be a reality to move that game to Prairie View as it is it's home game.

again.....I don't know anything...I've never met or spoken to the AD a day in my life

30,000 fans in an on-campus atmosphere is much more inviting, the LDC was pretty nice when it was at Robertson. The last time it was held there was in 1994 and it was packed. PV's receiver pushed off 2 separate times in the last drive to get into scoring position. The last time he pushed off he caught the ball right on the goal line but time ran off. TSU barely won that one.

Now this is funny as hell... ya'll know there will be a ton of chicken eatin' mofo's!!!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:read:

But my thing is not about the game being in Reliant or the Astrodome. It is about it being in Prairie View as opposed to be ing in Houston...regardless of which stadium in Houston houses the game.

it the powers that be decide, it will be at Prairie View....why continue to pay rent? If its our home game, they can't force us to change. On thing going in our favor is that the numbers have hovered around the 25K to 30K mark...you can get the same on campus.

As funny as it sounds, you get better participation out of the TSU fans, they seem to get a kick in coming to PV. They bought up the floor seats back in 2003 for basketball.

Correct me if I'm wrong Fiyah but as I recall there were only four games that counted toward the divisonal title then with a eastern team being rotated every other year to be counted in place of one of the lower attendance school. So that being the case what's to stop a higher tier team from not playing that lower tier/attendance school at all?

Btw Fiyah, I do go to the PV games when they're played in houston and I like anybody else who's there know fully well that if there were 800 PV fans there, it was 10,000.

Youself, Jafus and even annoying tbf may be the three best fans that PV has but the problem is all the rest are just talk. Oh.......sorry Panthro I forgot about you dude. Ok four best fans.

800 fans? :lmao:

we're not TSU....we do show, may show before halftime and leave but we are there.

come to Dallas and you'll see..

I have been to the State Fair/Cotton Bowl Classic. bp, you know dam_ well it is hard to tell who is who with all of those folks attending the fair. A lot of those people end up at that game by sheer accident. :shame:

You just made my point. Btw if you want to see the Nation you came go to Dallas,Jackson,Lorman,Mobile,Montgomery,Houston,New Orleans,Pine Bluff,Itta Bena or anywhere is the Continental U.S. and you don't need a fair to seduce them to come.

So how do you explain our #11 ranking in last year's Div. I-AA attendance?

Now I've heard enough. You have got to be talkin out the side of your neck. There is not a soul in the crowd at the State Fair classic by accident. There may be people at the Fair after the game by accident. Also, you can clearly determine PV alumn from GSU alum at the game.

I keep telling you all don't travel 10,000 deep. I've been to the CCC in Indy, SU brought about 2000, AAMU brought about 15,000. When SU came to LR, you brought about 2,000. Pine Bluff, you brought about 800. The only place SU travels is within a 2 hour drive of BR.

DS,

I have been laughing at you half of the day. If I had a drunk uncle, you would remind me of him.

You know he'll say it's because of the LDC being your home game and SU coming to Houston...you could have saved your keystrokes...LOL

Don't front! Yall SU folks be all in the fair after the games in Jackson........man, those were some good Saturdays.

We are all entitle to blow a little smoke once in a while, but it appears we are no longer blowing smoke. There is no jealous on anyone part, but common sense will prevail. The amount of your ticket will not be $28 I believe they will end up about $20. $28 is just a number to prepare you for a large increase of 4 to 5 dollars. But if I have to pay $28 for a regular ticket to a SU game as a visiting fan I am not coming. Then I can save bus, hotel, food and casino money. What a saving to not see a SU/AAMU Game.
