I know good music when i hear it, man this is a dang hot mess....Gram has got to do sumthin bout this....now i used to be in the band there, and this i have to say is the WORST GSU has ever sounded to me......it sounds lyk nuthin but sum young inexperienced kids blowin half notes and quarter notes all over the place....they need to reconstruct the whole direcion of the program with getting new DIRECTORS..not just one new DIRECTORS....pittifull.......:( kinda make me secong guess goin to HomeComing, gud thing the football team will be on the winning end....

Come on to homecoming. Maybe if the alumni can make a heartfelt plea, it can make a difference. It's truly sad.

Thinks for the history lesson.
My question is if they brought it back why isn't everyone doing it and not just a few? That I don't blame the students. I blame the leaders everyone should be doing it and not just a few. Leaders I mean section leaders, drum majors, and directors.

Legend...Thanks for the clip. I think the only thing that surprised me a little in there was Ode to Billy Joe. There is a lot to be rekindled from watching that clip!

I don't know Dr. Pannell, but I do know some tendencies among people. It is normally not being satisfied that gets us into trouble in these leadership postitions. More often it is what we TOLERATE.

After listening to that clip I am mad as heck. :mad: Wow!!!!! :shame:

Only reason these GSU alum are all up in arms is because this is a smaller gsu band....
The foundation is still the same.... They may have had a year or 2 where they got a good core group from New Orleans that help them tip over the slaw tub to actually sound decent...

But they been having sound check problems since the early to mid 90's atleast...

And I KNOW this because when I was in high school we used to compare tapes of GSU and St.Aug and Kennedy and used to scratch our heads trying to figure out if it was appropiate to say Kennedy and St.Aug was "much" better...

When I got to college I was like "the hell with this... I KNOW we have high schools in New Orleans that sound better than GSU"....

But it was a LOT of gsu folk stuck on stupid... "We the World Fame Baby"... "We been here, We been there".....
How about "We be sounding like shcit!!"....

I'm to the point where I don't even mention gsu band much any more.. The sound of that band makes me want to say a lot of unpleasant things and I just don't like being like that no more...

Now I tell my GSU folks I know in person the deal... But most of them already know... Even they be acting all surprised when GSU comes out sounding like crap... Then I have to give them that look....and be like..."Dude, yall were in the mist of that great mess as well"...

And I'll be dayum this is year 10...

That annoys me too.. when I see season vets like Xhale, and a few others on here subtracting from the years of Horror GSU put folk through....

:lmao: @ Blade and Jared... i'm sorry to subtract. i didn't mean too, notice i did say "at least". I never followed Gram before I got to A&M, so that 10 years was mainly from my perspective. Yet that is still TOO LONG!

So Blade, you said its the crystal anniversary, that's 15... I was close. :emlaugh:

On the real....Dr. Harold A Bray(my former BD RIP) went to GSU. Well when we were supposed to go to them in 96, we were broke (LOL) but we watched a tape of their performance(And as Doc said,"We gonna watch this for a laugh) by the middle of the show, he got up and turned the vCR an said he was embarrassed at their performance
