4 year old testifies in court

Once The child testifies and points at billy Joe and says hes the one that smothered my brother, thats all I need. After that, any thing that happens is a mean ol defense attorney manipulating a 4 year old. Dont forget the fact that if you cant get them to change the story, you can throw in the towel.. a 4 year old telling about the horrible stuff that happened to his brother would present wery well to a jury.

You think a defense attorney would shread a 4 year old? Not so fast my friend. The Jury would hate that attorney for it and send the defendant to the electric chair. I have seen 4 year olds that were a lot sharper than some people in college. If the child can point at billy joe and say billy joe killed Bobby, you would be a fool not to put that evidence on. I still remember some stuff from when I was 4, and nothing as tramatic as my brother getting smothered happened to me.

Maybe I'm relating this to myself when *I* was 4 years old. Shoot, I was hella sharp at four years old...was learning to read and telling detailed stories and all that isht (y'all would've been proud)! :lol:

I mean, I can understand by being somewhat apprenhensive about putting him on (different people have come up with different reasons), but the WORST is past him!!! NONE of this could possibly compare to him actually witnessing the murder of his brother!
Dang...y'all make it seem as if we expectin' lil June Bug to be like:

"At approximately 9:36 PM, I heard this rustling around the room. I knew it wasn't my dog Pookie, because he was still at the vet being neutered, due to his "fathering many puppies around the neighborhood."

No one is looking for EXACT DETAIL...they just want him to recant WHAT HE SAW...simple as that. :)


Do I think my mother would've let me testify if in that same situation??? I'm SURE she would. Why?...because she knew what her baby boy was capable of. ;)
Maybe this dude's parents feel the same way....:cool:

If a child that young keeps all that stuff bottled up without any means of release...it's gonna be big trouble for the rest of his life.

Think about...


He doesn't have to be drilled, but asking him simple questions about what he remembers isn't gonna hurt him.
Hell, y'all wanna do him like OTHER folks try to do...."protect" him from things. :rolleyes:

But what exactly would this be protecting him from???? :xeye:

And if his telling HIS story may possibly help solve this...why not????? ;)

They don't have to testify to not have it bottled up. They can talk to a shrink or give a statement.
