I'm in Toi, fill me in on the funds and the itinerary

Dude, if you are not going to go... Then don't go but don't start some how it get in Jackson mess.

There was a vote last year I guess you missed it...

:p

Well it ended up in Jackson after voting from posters, and with posters from Jackson lobbying to host the reunion. The thing with the reunion is to put it in a place where SWACpage posters are, and where posters are that want to actully work to put the reunion on, live. After having gone to ATL, Houston, and NOLA...all of the larger urban areas have been used. Plus attendance wasn't high in Houston or NOLA, so Jackson was seen as a central location.

*checking my calendar*

Any Houstonians that are going gotten their flight reservations yet ?

Dirty, what is Jackson to Houston on the road, 8 hrs ?

Six hours Ademola.

Considering the Tropical Storm Allison that crushed Houston, the turn out was good. I think we had more than NOLA...

It changes constantly. The construction is a straight beyotch. If everything is clear you can make it in about 6 from the southside. If you are coming from the galleria/westheimer area tack on another 20 or so.

Man will Texas ever get rid of construction???? They've had construction since I went to Louis Welch back in 90.......:shame:

I read in the Houston Chronicle recently that there has been construction on I-45 for over 40 years, constantly.

Whoever made it from Houston to Jackson in 6 hours must know a shortcut. It is at least 7 with NO traffic.

I agree. Speeding from BR to Jackson is 2.5 hours and speeding from Houston to BR is 4.5. That equals 7 to me.

It didn't take me 7 hours either time that I drove...

Hey Phat, I'm planning on going.......it's like driving to New Orleans about 6-7 hours. The speed limit is 70 on most interstates, I know it is on I-10.

FYI to those that are going airborne, Southwest goes into Jackson.
Cheap I might add. Regular 7 day advance purchase is about $108 after taxes and fees are assessed. Catch a promo, and you can get a flight for about $70 roundtrip plus tax and fees.

The date was voted on you just were in the minority.

I coulda sworn that it was a given...

Yeah, I disagreed with said date, but I don't think that it was actually VOTED on...

*shrug*

Robber:

I think we should raise the registration fee to $70.00. This will keep the attendance down and we can have a great time like we did at previous reunions. If the registration fee is too low it allow to many problem smackers to show up. Dr. Sweets and some of his kind are examples of smackers that I am referring to. We need to keep this as a first class event.

I believe Friday night should be a black tie affair, with a head table and the guest speaker should be Mighty Dog explaining how he became the #2 smacker. We should allow Kenn to present plaques with solid gold plates to the winners. We should invite Internet Pete, 1-9, Du Du Doug, Bucky and the Professor from Alcorn to our reunion. If we are thinking about having a pool party we should hire some Playboy Rabbits to serve us drinks. I know things don't cost much at Sack and Save but I truly believe we should not lower our standards by charging $35.00 for this event.

If you make it mandatory that ladies wear two piece swim suits, I don't DTown or Blueblood will show up.

I really think we should vote on raising the fee and the black tie affair. The price of turkey legs are up and so is ground beef, even hot dogs with Red Dye had a price increase.

Not really. I did it all the time when I lived in H-town. But I was rolling quite fast each time. Only when I would run into I-10 construction in LA would it slow me down. I would routinely make it Jackson in 6 to 6 and a half. 7 hrs would be few and far between.

BTW there is a shortcut if you take the back way through Clinton La and Liberty, MS to get to 55 right above Mc Comb and bypass going through Hammond. LA to I-55 . That way saves time and avoid the Laws that sit on 55 right before you get to McComb. Pike County aint no joke. So tread lightly going to long way.

*Checking invitation*...nope...no age limit. :sleep2:
