2026 Transfer Portal 4 (Juco signees Included)

That's typically what players do when the offers don't pour in. Act like you've been here before 😆 🤣

you have a losing program they bail - you win games they bail -

With only one portal cycle this is creating a mess as everyone just wants to go into it to see what they can get

Its better this way. Schools were going through spring ball in preparation for fall with guys that knew they weren't going to be there. FBS teams were plucking from rosters up until fall camp to fill holes.

One portal window with roster limitations eliminates that and also forces some schools to go back to the highschool route.

Yes and no - some coaches were using spring practice as a tryout for players per se and using the spring portal to address needs coming out of spring ball - see that the RB room is weak? Use the spring portal to replenish

I assume the grad transfer route will still be in play to add some talent but the issue I've already heard is our schools from the administrative side ready to handle the influx of portal athletes looking for spring homes?

With guys in the portal having attended 3 schools, etc how fast can they get admitted seeing you need 3 transcripts ready, etc over a 2 week period?

And in some situations if everyone wants Andrew Body, etc. how many visits can he get lined up in that period if he really wants to make the right decision? Let's say he signs with XXX in the spring but it's not a good fit then he could bounce after for another school in the spring but that option is gone now so these guys have to really evaluate their next move cause there's not leeway unless they enter as a senior and can graduate by the spring/summer

That's the gamble the student athlete is taking now with the 2 week portal window. It was designed purposely with that in mind. Id hope that most top athletes entering the portal already have an idea of where they are headed. Which is why most are announcing in Dec that they'll be entering the portal Jan 2nd. Others will more than likely end up returning back to their respective schools (possibly risk losing their scholarships). I expect to see less players entering the portal next year if this transfer rule remains. It will definitely be a disaster. As stated, I'd expect more coaches to go back to recruiting mostly highschool players instead of gambling with the portal after this. Admissions will definitely be chaotic at our level.

This is a serious issue, imho.

So, I'm now witnessing at least 5 HS seniors who are opting to graduate early Dec/2025 so they can start their university career in January. There's a 5* footballer at a local HS who decided to play basketball over the last 2 weeks, since their football playoff run ended at the quarterfinals and he will start attending ut-austin in Jan, to vie for a starting position on their starting roster. fbs schools have deep pockets and are all-in with their collectives so they can acquire and then set aside. But, where does that put the others in the portal? Head to head vs 5*/4* HSers leaving school in Dec? 👀

When I see that number, I immediately ask myself about percentages: What percentage of that number will graduate with a degree? What percentage has NFL aspirations? What percentage will drop out? What percentage will contribute positively to society and have high paying jobs? What percentage will actually make it to the league? What percentage already has a child? What percentage actually have a sound PLAN and goal, and will ultimately achieve that goal??? Mane, if coaches aren't real with these kids....smh

Jags, y'all gonna' clean house and start fresh with coach Faulk/staff and a lot of incoming txfers, their preferred people, or are y'all retaining who returns? 👀
