I get that part but don't take a homegame from your players against a divisional foe and then move it out of state. From the athlete/team perspective, I think its a disservice to the players. Also, I have heard a lot of complaints about the operations of that game in Mobile.

That's one of the most lucrative games on the schedule. The payout we get from mobile dwarfs any money games, the SHC payout in any year etc, as well as any JSU vs aamu game in Jackson.

Oh I agree. The Vegas game is one I hate the most.

Again, a savvy AD wouldn't have touched this with a 10 foot pole but we had a figurehead AD at the time (and appear to have one now)

When Alabama State played NCCU in Miami last year, a lot of our fans/supporters were like "nobody is at that game, it was a wasted trip etc.", we were paid almost $600k in addition to all of the expenses for the team, band, and university administrators were covered by the promoters. It was a money maker for us - for the promoters, well that's on them.

I will say this again. It is crazy imo to move a homegame against a divisional opponent to a neutral location outside of it being a big traditional rivalry.

These ADs and presidents aint dumb (well MOST of them lol)….. They see figures that fans dont see. I guarantee you if AAMU is in a game in Mobile …. They making some money down there. Wimms and AD Bryant money driven.
