Texas Southern, Alabama A&M and Norfolk State in the CIT.

How the hell does AAMU (10-21) get in a post season tournament?

Bethune Cookman, Delaware State and Chicago State in CBI.

Where is Southern & Alcorn at? They were the 2nd & 3rd seeded teams.

I see the new WBIT tournament is the next in line tournament for the women teams that miss the NCAA....(paid for by the NCAA)

The NCAA owns the NIT but not the WNIT, so they decided to create their own tournament (WBIT).

The Post Season Tournaments have become jokes that people don’t even care to laugh at. The WNIT teams with byes are showcasing foolishness at its best.

If they are going to keep these post season tournaments going, they need drop their bracket sizes down tremendously and host the entire tournament from NBA Arenas in major cities.

The NIT and WNIT needs to drop down to 16 teams that includes invitations to regular season champs not in the NCAA tournament, and teams that had impressive showings in the conference tournament. The tournaments should be hosted at NBA Arenas only. Of course there will still be the St. John’s and Indiana teams of the world who will decline their invitations, but cutting the bracket down to just 16 teams still allows the tournament to have some relevant teams. A “Play In or Opening Round Game” should be added for those invited teams who finished with the ugliest records.

Those other CBI or CIT’s of the world need to roll with the best 8 teams they can find in a single elimination tournament. We are almost certain that the 7 and 8 seeds will have questionable post season records, so those teams should play to face the #1 Seed in the next round. This thing should be over in 1 damn Week.

If they are going to have these post season games that most fans don’t care about, then they are going to have to make changes to them so the mid majors and major minor fans at least want to pay attention and check their teams out.

You PAY to get into some of those tournaments and those same ones can EXCLUDE schools.

See Detroit Mercy with Mike Davis's son who was close to breaking a certain scoring record and FOLKS called some of those tournaments to NOT include the school just to keep him from breaking that record.
AAMU didnt pay to play …. They were invited. You haven’t had to pay since Covid. Norfolk State assistant coach cleared up this rumor on twitter.

They look at the final four teams left during the conference tournament … not the in season seeds. Southern and Alcorn were both put out in the first round.

From what I have been able to find, the only fee is $30,000 if a school chooses to host.

No Swac school in the city!! Doesn’t make sense.its not a swac school in the state 🤦‍♂️
It makes plenty of sense. Although there may not be any SWAC schools in the city, it is an HBCU city with a huge HBCU alumni base. And there is likely some data that supports this decision as well. HBCU Sports has zero affiliation with the SWAC; however, based on our analytic data of the top 10 cities that visit our website, Atlanta is No. 1 on the list.

Interesting….. can you post like a top 10 list that visits the site? I would have thought Houston would be #1. Im making my plans early to be in Atlanta for the tournament…. If we all plan early I think it will be successful. That’s why I was for letting all teams go…. That way there is no “i was waiting to see if my team is going to make it” excuse.
