southern couldn't sellout the JSU game?! Hmmm.

Well the normal crowd aint coming to see this JSU vs SU game. When there is no drama in it. See how the BC has increased attendance after both Gram and SU got good at the same time and had the West title on the line the last 3-4 years. Hell the last 4-5 years. I am sure the JSU contingent that usually attends probably didn't road trip either. 20K isn't a bad number. Definitely not 90s or early 2000s like numbers. But this is a different generation of fans we are getting. The older crowds are either too old to come or passed on. SU had a big die hard contingent of old heads during the 90s and 2000s and the students were different. They showed up and showed out. Not to mention a lot of us in my age group were in our 20s and 30s and still rolling deep. Now folks have other responsibilities with their about to be grown college kids. So priorities changed for some. Others just aint feeling the SWAC football like the old days. Different mindset across the board.

Even the big PWCs are not selling out like they used too. Only for certain games. NFL the same way.

Get a real coach who can help you compete, then come back to the table!
Grambling's been having this problem when JSU was winning, so this has nothing to do with JSU. Yall not even on our schedule, but if we were, we'd surely have more than 5,000 on the JSU side alone, win or lose.

So it's ok when southern folks talk about attendance, but off limits to others when the numbers aren't in southern's favor? Hahahaha!!!

man, that was the most lax JSU-SU game I ever been too. To be honest, you all had no respect for us. I almost felt like you all were happy to see us! LOL

GSU, SUx has to respect for you all either. The whole talk in BR is who they want in Bham! LOL

They still there JR. The Houston and Dallas trips back to back hurt folks pockets. SU was deep as hell in Dallas.

That is true. Nobody was worried by JSU. The rivalry ain’t fun because y’all team is sad.

Dont worry.. we will have you sitting on your hands in fear of us very soon. A good JSU team has never been worried about SU.

Yes yall have. Because good JSU teams have been whooped by SU as well. LOL. Pete did it regularly. LOL.

Oh now it’s “we had poor attendance because nobody wanted to see us play a sad JSU team”

But before that it was “we don’t care about JSU. And we don’t need them sell out Mumford. We can do that without them”

Well..... let’s post some facts here because y’all them yella’s were raised to lie.

Flagged by declining enrollment, an aging fan base, financial and cultural shifts in the landscape of the city and an outdated infrastructure, Southern struggles to bring people into the stadium, no matter how successful or exciting the product on the field might be.

If Southern does not see 28,500 people walk through the stadium gates Saturday, it will mark the 86th consecutive home game since the program’s last complete sellout, dating to a 44-23 win against Morris Brown in 2000.

The last time Southern sold out every seat, not including suites, was the 2015 matchup against Jackson State.”

I DO think that was partly true BUT also a lot of JSU fans were not messing with Hughes so they didnt bother to waste good money. Also, SU lost a big chunk of their fanbase to Hurricane Katrina and never recovered.
