2017 SWAC Basketball Tournament


Grambling couldn't stay at that tempo and started to run out of gas. TxSu leads 56-50 with .38 seconds left.
 



Coach Davis gave Coach Walker a lot of credit for the way the game went down today. He said Walker took away the tempo and flow our team likes to play at. Out of his own mouth he said Walker is a hell of coach that is getting everything he can out of his team.

That is the second time I have heard him be so complimentary of a coach in the SWAC. His comments today remind me of when I heard him say Roman Banks was the best coach in the conference. I'm still waiting to hear what he thiinks of Lew Jack.
 
When was the last time TxSU wasnt in the Championship game? Seem like they been in it every year for about 10 years.
 



Our ladies really choked in that 4th quarter. Like I said earlier about our men, they were inconsistent all season and could either get blown out or win the whole thing. We see which team showed up to Houston.
 
Wow! Got to give Walker and Grambling props for the way the program totally changed in basketball. If that Roper kid who they signed last year would have stayed, who knows how good they would have been. And where in the hell was that Ugba big fella vs sTu? GSU would have won this game with him. He is their best player.

sTu should beat Alcorn. If they don't, it will be pretty embarrassing for the SWAC representative of the NCAA tournament to not even be the conference champion. sTu needs to finish the job and show that their program is reaching for new heights by winning the opening round game or giving a top seed hell in the first round.
