2016 SWAC Football Television Schedule announced

The Southwestern Athletic Conference released its 2016 football television schedule which includes 14 contests that will spread across six different networks.

Eight of the 10 member institutions will either be featured on ABC, ESPN, ESPNU, ESPN3 or NBC Sports Network. All games are available in standard high-definition.

The Thursday night slate of ESPNU games start Sept. 15 when Arkansas-Pine Bluff travels to Alcorn State for a 6:30 p.m. CT. kickoff. After a two-year hiatus, the Turkey Day Classic returns to ESPN3 when Alabama State plays host to Miles College Thanksgiving Day at 3 p.m

More games may potentially be added as the season progresses.

Surprising that the only game on a non streaming channel as part of the Swac package is the Thursday game between UAPB & Alcorn St. and the SCG.

The PVAMU game was not scheduled by the conference for television but a separate deal negotiated by PVAMU so therefore it is not apart of the official ESPN deal.

Yep.. just two games. I'm glad we were proactive and got the LDC on nationally to showcase the new facility.

Are you sure that those games still aren't on ESPN3? I thought all ESPN games were streamed on ESPN3 regardless, or is that not the case?

It may be on ESPN3 also but my comment was in reference to only 1 regular season game being on a cable/broadcast network channel. All the other games are only on a streaming channel. The Swac has had less and less games being broadcasted on one of the ESPN cable channels more as this contract has gone on. Not sure when it end but they may need to look at something else in the future.
 
Maybe they trying to appeal to the younger folks since they prefer to stream their content, it's us old folk that like a good ole television

But you can't have a watch party at a local watering hole, see the game and partake in adult beverages.

Yes you can....tell them to buy a streaming device with watch ESPN and it's on....most can if they want to as that's going to be the way to go down the line

Yep. Many come with WatchESPN (and now ESPN has the ESPNApp) so all you need is it and some good internet service and it's on.

Our only game (for now) is on ESPN3 so that's our route to go if we wanna do some type of viewing party with the EMU game

According to that all but the UL-Monroe and Grambling game for us will be on ESPN 3.

That's schedule is not correct.
Why would it show the BC on ESPN3 when that game is being broadcast by NBC Sports. Also if you go to some of those other Swac schools it doesn't show the game on ESPN3. I went to the PVAMU schedule and it doesn't show our game against SU on 3 but on SUs schedule it does.
 
I've found these games also being broadcasted on TV also.


MVSU vs EMU - 9/2 - ESPN3
GSU vs Arizona - 9/10 - Pac12
SU vs Tulane - 9/10 ESPN3

Well at least y'all see why I was mistaken. The mothership messed our schedule up. Lol
 
Looks like they fixed it now, at least the mobile version. They do have the Tulane game listed though.
