I agree with you on the hard foul part (sort of). I don't think the intent was malicious, but he did not make a play on the ball at all, and the call was correct. Hit the ball first?!?!?! What the hell are you watching?

A friend was joking and said Mike Davis told them to hurry up and wrap gauze around the dude head that got fouled, so he wouldn't have to return for the free throws.

Withdrawing does not give stu a loss on their record so no game was played and no penalty accessed.

That wasn't the hardest foul ever. I think the SU kid was trying to wrap up the shooter and it didn't work out. Hope buddy for TSU can play in the tourney.

I called that as soon as I saw the foul.... He smiling inn the sideline with his head wrapped up before the man even sit a free throw.
 
For now, TSU is still in the play in game against Robert Morris now instead of Montana (we knew it wouldn't be against Hampton). MSU winning the Big 10 tourney would be a big resume booster but is it big enough
 
The easiest way to wrap up the shooter is grab the body. No one is playing the victim. Personally I think the the young man simply got caught up in the moment and made a dumb play. Riley landed face first on the court, blessed not to have a concussion. He will require at least 3 stitches to close his cut.
 
I saw a prediction where SFA might get a 12 seed. Is the Southland conference that much better than us?

Not really lol. Southland is a one bid league. SFA is just a good team

SFA's rep is getting them that 12 seed. Even with 32 wins last year (29 game winning streak) and 29 wins more I believe this year adds to that. But just like last year, SFA had to win to get in (even with a 29 game winning streak) just like this year. They did what Murray State and NCCU couldn't do (win their conference tourney). Their best win this year was against Memphis who is having a down year.
 
FWIW, CBS predicts TSU as a 15 seed in the west facing Arizona. Usually, the SWAC champ goes in with 0 noteworthy OOC wins, and sometimes is not even the regular season champ. That kind of stuff hurts at selection time. This team is VERY different. Rolled through the conference with 2 losses, 2 signature wins OOC against major opponents (with a third game they lost by only 1 point), and a tourney win. I think that's enough to get them out of Dayton. Take away ANY one of those, and I think TSU is in the play in.
