Well for the record the Superbowl's Grambling's Band have done, the band only performed once in Louisiana but the other Superbowls Grambling were in resided in California and Florida so it doesn't matter if a Superbowl is in your city. If they want you they will get you to it. I wouldn't be surprised if Grambling's Band was in the Superbowl this year in Dallas.

You said no one invited JSU. The Orchesta is a part of the JSU Music Department. We went and have gone to the Library of Congress as well. My point is get out of this thread with that mess. It's about the Sonic Boom. Not Grambling world Fame or The hume Jukebox. Make your own thread and toot your own horn.

Dude, EVERYONE knows thta Gramblings benefits from being the brand that Robinsion created in football. Any invites your band gets is a reflection of that. Your band SUCKS!
 
I swear, if our people would put in the same amount of energy in building one another up as they do in tearing each other down, we would be a powerful people.

Personally, I'm glad to see ALL our SWAC bands get invited and participate in all these big-time events and be apart of the HOF.
 
Was anyone talking about Orchestra's? I think the discussions was bands and to be more precise, marching bands. Now if it makes you peeps feel better that your Orchestra got invited to participate in the Presidential Inaugural Events that you band has NEVER EVA EVA been apart of then that's you. Do what u do. Just don't throw stones in a brick house. Calling one country when yall are country and the killing part Jackson,Miss is supposed to be a city and some of you are trying to look down on another but if the Superbowl committee, Sugar Bowl committee, Rosebowl Parade committee, U.S. Government that has a panel to select the bands for the Inaugural Parade thought highly of JSU's band then they would be inviting you to everything under the sun so don't fault Grambling or anyone else for not being invited to things. Not saying that JSU doesn't have a good program because it does but the little snoobish attitude that some of you possess doesn't balance with other aspects of being recognized by others. True Eddie Robinson got Grambling's name in the spotlight and Grambling surely thanks him from that but Coach Rob didn't create Grambling's Band rep, how Conrad Hutchinson had the band looking and sounding did that. Grambling can't help it has benefits. Benefits=Blessings. By the way, all HBCU bands got noticed through football it just so happened we had the biggest name at our school and the rest is history.

These statements would be taken seriously from you if you made them even after your school was the main ones tearing down..... You wait till folk tear your school down to make such "We are the world" post...

Well you need to seriously talk to your J State peeps because they are good at doing that. Don't have to believe me, just scroll back. JSU peeps are in so much drama on here because of just that, trying to put others down like everything is A OK with JSU. That's why many get ignorant with many JSU peeps. smh

Okay but no one discredited Gramblings history until you guys came in to belittle JSU and the Sonic Boom. Your band is not the GRAM of old you know it. bottom line JSU has plenty of accolades and we don't need anyone's approval. You interjected into the 2010 Sonic Boom thread with your empty retoric. That other dude..Oh well he selling chico sticks, now laters, and faygo pops so his band can travel.

Dude I still have the acceptance letters in my freaking Senior Book. I still have the JSU band camp info and the tape that shows how may scholarships I received on class night.

You see my Highschool prepared us for college. They set up these weekly Recruiting meetings with all the Universities in the Sip. WE got excused from class to speak with the recruiters and fill out applications. The kid even got a Scholly to Tuogaloo.

This is why everyone views you as a clown. You can't understand that other people accomplish anything. yOu can't seperate yourself from Lossianna. Other Bands are good, other school are better than your little bitty mind cand comprehend.

Could you please show me where someone from Grambling belittled JSU? Out of 4 pages i didn't see it. Only things i saw that was said is, ProfK didn't feel like people making statements aren't musically inclined so that was to certain posters which is personal, didn't bring GSU or JSU in it...next lilrj laughed a someone from JSU calling someone country, didn't bash JSU band and i didn't bash JSU's band, and I didn't bash JSU's band so between us 3 that are Gramblinites who belittled JSU?

I agree with Dacon.. all that dancing is country and dumb as hell....
Maybe that how I was raised in New Orleans on band....
For all that, jsu should never really critique gsu for all of their dancing.. Atleast their dancing ain't as cheesy...

Do you just read the JSU poster post and not the dude from SU I mean he has done nothing but belittle JSU in his post. Then you came in tooting Grams horn when I clearly stated that you were inducted in the NCAA Hall of Champions.


I'm done with the entire thread. I don't have to validate anything to you guys. Facts can prove all my points. I don't go on here say and false tales.

Actually you did start the hoopla. SUtpt actually gave Grambling a compliment in that statement in a twisted way lol. You just flat out belittled Grambling then your JSU buddies jumped on the bandwagon. So actually the beef was between SU and JSU but JSU put GSU in it. You don't have to believe me, go back and read the replies. It's just hilarious that one would think dancing and playing at the same time is country because their band can't or chose not to do it. One track mind send help. There is something called being different. smh

USA Today, its so funny how you get all excited when someone from SUcks tries to down JSU simply because they hate the fact that JSU is seen on the same level as them...as among the HBCU elite. Grambling is among the elite as well but not because of quality..your band rode the coat-tail of Robinson and still lives on name only. People don't expect quality from Grambling's band. But until someone from SUcks tells you that AGAIN, I guess you try to overlook how bad ya'll are.

In the "Marching Band" arena... JSU is not on SU's level. JSU had a quality sounding band in the 90's and before......Today they sure ain't MARCHING on SU level and they sound like a knock off carbon copy of a New Orleans band gone wild trying to sound like SU...except on "some" songs...
