DallasCowboyGir, you must have been keeping up with the results from the net too? The only thing I've seen on tv thus far is stilled pics from Tyson Gay's semis and Bolt standing in from of the clock that reads 9.69. See I just hate it how they treat my 2nd favorite sport. You would have thought they would have shown this event live and given it the coverage it deserves. Neverthless let me make my 4 x 100 meter relay predictions now...1. Jamaica 2.Trinidad and Tobago 3. U.S. (if they don't drop the baton).

BTW, the word is Bolt could have ran even faster, yet he was so far ahead that he started showboating during the last couple of meters...imagine that!

Man that boy Bolt is a BEAST!!! I think he can run that schiit in 9.5 flat at least...

When in the hell did jumpin on a trampoline become an Olympic sport???? I know people in the hood that would have qualified for this.

Okay...Okay.. Did anybody watch the 3000 Steplechase race...You jump over some strong looking hurdles and a hurdle/pit filled with water. I have been watching the Olympics since I was a kid and this is the fist time I saw this ish..

That is an old event... AAMU even has a steplechase pit with water on that old ass track lol

Just watched the race on NBC. Bolt just put it into another gear after the first 30 meters. And he really did start celebrating WELL before the finish line. If he runs har all the way through, I think he may have even come in under 9.6

that damn Bolt could have run in the 8s if he wanted to... He was celebrating WAY before the finish line... during the interview he stated that he didnt care about a world record and that he only wanted a gold medal.

also why does Phelps look like he high everytime the national anthem is played during medal ceremonies?

EXACTLY.......that is some BS to me. That sport has always been hypocritical. They should just say Girls Gymnastics. Poor college aged women across the world are deemed to old for some reason.........but the men don't have that issue.

They are putting too much pressure on a bunch of teenagers. Not to mention, folks talk all that experience crap about our girls. Those Chinese girls start training as soon as they can walk. Our girls have to hope their parents get them involved early. It is a mandate in China. It is voluntary here in this country. So a 14 year old Chinese girl probably has more experience than our 16 year old. It would be different if the Chinese girls were beating grown arse women....... But this is nothing new. Nadia Comaneici was 14 I think when she won everything. The last older female I can remember winning was Olga Korbut back in the day. She was probably young too but she looked old. :lmao::

Olga was 17 when she won in '72.

Bolt was beyond impressive.

I will give Michael Phelps credit for his overall performance. But for a single event that I have seen at these Olympics, I am more amazed by what Bolt has done than I am anyone else so far.

Consider this. His best race is the 200.

Now that I finally saw the race, I'm just dumbfounded about Bolt and how he destroyed his competitors. There was no way in this world Tyson Gay would have won this race, no way whatsoever.

I'm starting to wonder about Asafa Powell and why he always chokes in big races. As my wife and I was watching him run at a certain angle, we noticed that it seemed as if he wasn't trying. He had no fire in his eyes.

Back to Usain Bolt, naturally at 6 feet 5, it does seem that the 400 would be the natural race for him. I would like to see him go ahead and give it a try. He'd kill the competition by running in the low 42s. LOL....

just awesome....,

Five years from now we will see how Bolt was stripped for steriod use lol.... happens every year.

As Dahill pointed out, the steeplechase has been around for a long time.

Damn Bolt made that 100 look easy. No telling what numbers he would post had he run hard the entire race. Can't wait to see what he does in the 200.

Guess that thought is in the back of most people's mind every time a record in track and field is broken these days. I just hope and believe God has blessed him with extraordinary talent. LOL This sport has taken so much in the last couple of years..,

Re: Olympic Men's 100m (Tyson Gay is Out/Who will win?)

No he didn't not quaifiy for the finals. to do so he had to jump 8.15 or have the top 12 jumps combine between the two flights. No Americans made it.

Oh.......I didn't know that. I thought the top 12 from each group made it to the next round. If that's not the case, I stand corrected.

Regards.

Too easy...Sorry but you should run hard every race. He got beside hisself..I couldn't been his coach because NBC would've seen me cussing his arse out for pulling up like that.

And to think, less than a year ago, Bolt was was irrelevant in the 100M.

yep they said he had to BEG his coach to let him run it.

I feel bad because I am about to miss church to watch the womens Olympic basketball team play :smh::smh::smh:

I have seen a lot of athletes participating for countries other than their native countries....my question is this.....if you could participate for any other country would you.....and which would it be? Oh and money should not be a factor in your decision........:swink:
