This can't be right. This is an even year. We went to SU. We couldn't have led the nation, a dayum gin I might add, without SU coming to Jackson.
 



3 of S.U. home games made a 23K averge alone.

Tulane.....41k
JSU........38k
Gram.......59k

If you divide only these 3 games by 6 you will come up with 23k.

That means the S.U. home average was well over 23,000 because the other 3 home games are not included in the aforementioned total.

New Orleans Superdome is the 2nd designation for S.U. home games and the aforementioned teams were visitors this year. Someone apparently did not do what they were suppose to get proper credit for these games.

JSU average home attendance for 2002 was 16,491 not 23,691.

yea they counted that Alcorn game as a home game for us. Some schedules even had JSU as the home team. Maybe the NCAA was just careless with stats this year.

This isn't true. In 2000, Jackson State played Texas Southern, Miss. Valley, Alabama A&M, Univ. of New Haven & Alcorn (CCC) in Jackson. The NCAA didn't average the Alcorn game into Jackson State's average home attendance because it was a designated home game for Alcorn. In 2000 Jackson State ranked 25th with an average of 11,690, the Alcorn game wasn't include in this total even though the game was played in JSU's designated home stadium.

If so, that is interesting (I wanna say dumb). Well here is a question. Was that game in the season ticket package (not that it matters, just courious.

Mach, those are just stats. The 2002 college football hasn't officially ended. The NCAA usually releases it's attendance totals in March.

It seems as if alabama a&m's attendance should be higher since they were the home teams for the magic city and circle city classics. Both of these games were the fourth and fifth most attended games this year.
 
The RCA is not AAMU 2nd designated home field. Hence, AAMU cannot use the CCC as home attendance.
 
I don't know the exact NCAA reg on what constitutes a home game. However, a good question I try to ask to determine whether a game is a home game or a classic is, "Whether the home team's students get into the game for free?" If they do then it is likely a true home game. If the students have to pay even if it's a reduced price then the game is more properly considered to be a classic regardless of where it is held.
