They may be first in the league in steals and in other offensive categories.
But the bottom line is they're LAST in giving up points.
Winning playoff games is about POINTS given up and defensive percentages.

Golden State is not last in team defense out of the playoff teams, they are last in team defense out of the thirty teams in the NBA. The Hawks and Grizzlies had a better defense.
They rank number 30.
They are last, look it up. I dare you. FACT.

Okay, so playoffs are won with not giving up points. I get what you're saying. But playoff games are also won on the amount of offense you can produce. And you and I both know that Dallas' defense is not on par with....let's say...San Antonio or even Detroit for that matter and it REALLY showed in Game 1. So basically we can throw that argument out because Dallas is really NOT a defensive team. And if you believe that, something must be wrong!

Yes, Golden State does have the worst defense of the teams in the league but they also have the 2nd best offense, which almost balances out if you want to be logical. The fact that they have a patch up starting lineup is more reason to validate why they were so bad. Do me a favor and look up the last 25 games that GS played and tell me where they rank in total defense. By the way, the last 25 games is when they had EVERYONE healthy! :whatever:

In addition, they are the only playoff team--that I know of--that had to play HALF the season with 2 of the star players injured in Baron Davis and Jason Richardson. I can go on and on about trying to support why this team has the tools to beat Dallas, but I wont. I'll just leave you with YOUR belief that Dallas is a defensive team....go figure! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

^^^

The way its looking in the Chi/mia series...Chicago could sweep daWINE wade and co. as well.

Hell yeah! DaWINE wade is a winer! Everyone knows the refs called alot of ticky tack calls to swing the series miami way. Now that those refs(one in particular) is not there...we'll see how far mia goes.

When did someone admit that??

You didn't address the part about Cuban & Avery whining.... Hell, Cuban sits in the front JUST TO WHINE.

When they admit to this...OJ will admit he's guilty...which means NEVER!

I saw the game, even some of my frat brothers, who are DIE HARD Miami fans and one who played with AJ back at SU even said the refs called the game slanted.

And may I add to the wining heat roster..."the BIG Winey Baby..."

Skiles expected the NBA to fine Hinrich for tossing his mouthpiece, but he was surprised the guard didn't get ejected. "What Kirk did the other (day), that's supposed to be an automatic ejection," Skiles said. "They didn't see it. Hopefully, nothing like that happens again." Skiles was also surprised the league didn't fine O'Neal for saying referee Rush "derailed" him in the opener. ... While others were quick to credit Sefolosha for containing him in the opener, Wade wasn't as generous with the praise. He said the rookie bothered him on his first shot and one other "that I can remember."

And

O'Neal accused the Bulls of flopping and lashed out at referee Eddie F. Rush after Game 1,

Shaquille O'Neal's words were sharp and pointed and aimed straight at his target, like those passes he whips to cutters when he is double-teamed.

His target this time was referee Eddie F. Rush.

"My intention was to come out and be myself, until Eddie Rush derailed me," O'Neal said after fouling out.

He accused the Bulls of flopping and said they had "lot of help out there."

"It's just unfortunate that people fall for that," said O'Neal, who scored 10 points in the first quarter before the fouls piled up. "I'm used to just outplaying somebody and just playing hard, but I guess that's what you got to do to stop Shaq."

It's almost Gametime! If GSW win tonight they will sweep Dallas,

What adjustments has Avery made in the first half? He's put his bigger lineup back on the floor, but they're still trying to run with Golden State.

Where in the hell is Dirk?
Ain't no way in hell he's better than Kobe.
The MVP trophy has been watered down over the last two years.

Jay Rob,

How many minutes did Erick Dampier get to play in the 1st half? :whatever:

The only reason that Dallas is trying to run with Golden State is because Golden State is pushing the tempo with their undersized starters! C'mon, any basketball mind can see this. Nellie is forcing the issue and is putting Avery in a position to counter with smaller players. So far Dallas has been hitting their shots--got to give them credit!

On the other hand, I certainly hope that was not Dallas' best punch, because J-Rich hasn't even been involved in the game. It's been all Monta Ellis and Stephen Jackson. :what: :lmao:

Dallas is going to have to do something in the 2nd half to put Golden States in their place! :p

GS is playing with eight players. LOL

Baron Davis is stupid and so is Steven Jackson. The officials warned them over and over, but they keep on cursing and complaining after committing obvious fouls.
Seems like they're trying to get ejected from the game.

It did seem like B. Davis tried to get ejected for real, because that last stunt was really uncalled for.

Man, just admit that you were wrong. Dallas is constantly going inside hitting layups, getting fouled and getting rebounds.
They're also playing more physical with GS.

GS is missing jump shots, like we knew they would.
Dallas is practically giving them jump shots.

If Dallas keeps going inside, they'll win easily. That's a big IF though.

Everyone on the Golden State starting lineup except Monta is a shoot first pass second player. They could have beat the brakes off the Mavs if they would just past the ball a little more. Richardson was way off but kept shooting. Monte is instant offence and they rarely throw him the ball. He was hot last night and after got 13 points he saw the ball sparenly(sp). Running and gunning is fine but I think this is not a team but a collective group of good players. If they were a team they would have won last night.

 I said the same thing Wiggi! Monta had a chance to be the X-factor last night, but they stopped giving him the ball down the stretch! Terry couldn't guard Monta and he was getting to the hoop at will. I think the turning point in this game was the 1st technical by Baron Davis and how they reluctantly failed to give Terry a technical when he instigated the whole mess. I'm still confused why they gave Stephen Jackson a tech when all he tried to do was break the stuff up!

If Golden State would have made the extra pass each time down the court, this would have been a real good game! Unfortunately, Dallas was allowed to play very physical and aggressive and when Golden State tried to match that intensity they were whistled for every touch foul you could imagine! :smh:

I can't wait to see how this thing will turn out when they go back to Oakland!

Baron and Jackson made a total ass of themselves last night. It's highly unusual for a ref to tell the coach to stop his players from showing up the refs. Nelson told Davis to cool it, but he kept on and on using profanity and showing up the refs.
They HAD to eject him. Seems like he wanted it.

Jackson, he just lost it, period.
Yall must not have heard the background cursing and foul language these guys were using over and over toward the players and refs.

I'm not talking about the techs that got them ejected because they had it coming! . I'm talking about the 1st techs when Terry tried to run up on Baron they called a double tech on Diop  Baron, but also Stephen Jackson. And all Jackson tried to do was break it up. Can someone explain that to me please? :whatever:

Y'all mean to tell me that the refs are having a heavy impact on the outcomes of NBA playoff games??? Say it ain't so.

I missed the game last night, but I'm sure I know how everything played out. Unless there's a extreme mismatch, playoff series almost always follow a certain script.

Could it be that Stern wants to see certain teams in the Conference and League Finals?

Even better...could it be that Stern wanted to see a certain team win in 2006?

Better yet...

Could it be that Stern didn't want to hand the trophy to a certain Team Owner in 2006?
